BUYER BEWARE: 3rd Gen Plug-N-Play Tailgate Bolt-N-Lock & Tailgate Bolt-N-Open

I purchased the original full kit a few months ago and promptly installed it with no issues. I would like to add the opener functionality to my truck. I previously bent the rod and drilled into my tailgate. I know I need to buy the harness from DSIM, but what exactly do I need to buy from you to add the opener functionality? Thank you for the help!

What exactly are you wanting for a package and I can advise what to purchase?

 

I would look at doing the following:

Bolt-N-Open Add-On Package (Actuator, BNO, PNP, Integrated Harness)
PRICE: $115 (FREE SHIPPING LOWER 48)

If you are fine with how it is currently mounted then I would leave your current set up how it is. If you want to update it, then I w would also get the following:

Bolt-N-Lock Bracket & Rod
PRICE: $30 (FREE SHIPPING LOWER 48)

 

I am most likely going to order one of these in Ebay this weekend from you. Do they fit long boxes? Or do we need to let you know its LB so you can make them longer?

 

Can anyone provide me the center of hole to center of hole length of the new rod for the unlock kit?

Yes, I bought the first version of the kit with the rod. The rod was the wrong length(short) and was putting excessive force on the handle/tailgate. So I disconnected the harness and haven't used it since. I Don't really feel like spending an additional 10 dollars to fix something that should of worked correctly from the get go.

 

Thank you... I was able to resolve the issue by making some adjustments.

 

Finally got around to installing this. Quick and easy once I figured it out. Thanks @KTJO 4x4

2018 DCSB TRD SPORT
DIY installed a Pop and Lock

$170 PL8535 POP & Lock – Power Tailgate Lock for Toyota Tundra, 2007 to 2021 Toyota Tundra, Truck OEM Lock, Anti Theft, Truck Tailgate Lock Replacement, Easy to Install, Made in The USA (PL8547TUN)

PL8535 this afternoon per the manufacturers included instructions. Followed the frame rail up the DRIVERSIDE to the grommet and made the connections via Positaps at the DRIVERSIDE kickpanel. Found what I thought was the white 10pin IC1 connector and tapped the Blue PL to the Tacoma black and the Green PL to the Tacoma Blue.
Results:
The P&L would not activate far enough to throw the lock via the FOB.
Also the left turn signal would only illuminate once and then not work.
Conducted a wiring recheck to ensure that wiring was correct, all good.
Activated hazards and heard the P&L activate once and the hazards activated once.
Disconnected the taps and the problem with the left turn signal works fine.
So obviously I have a wrong connection somewhere

Question A: Will the Plug and play connectors work on the driverside connection and eliminate the conditions described above?
Question B: Using the P&L can I upgrade to the opening version that is offered in this thread?

Pop n lock directions are wrong. You need to run wires to passenger side kick panel and connect green/green and blue/red.
