I’ve never seen a $30 replacement LED light do remotely close to great, they are typically Chinese toys.

Another example that talks about how well they replicate a halogen filament and completely leaves out width. Those things are wide, which will give poor focus and projection performance.

Edit: And when run in a reflector like a foglight, awful glare.

Yes. I did them for my low beam and fogs. The beam pattern is excellent, the color is great, and is brighter than stock. The fogs really project both far and wide which make for great highway driving/backroads.

I am just here answering questions and giving real world results. Are they as good as the halogens you recommend...NO. And I am not disagreeing!!!

However for a cheap LED is it brighter than stock? Yes! Does it project farther? Seems to yes. It definitely does not project less!. I am happy with my purchase and would recommend, as I just did, when someone asks me about them. They have a ton of positive reviews and you tube videos showing other happy customers which is why I tried them and bought them. If you WANT an led then I think worth the few bucks spent.

If you want the BEST light output then halogen as you recommend is still superior based upon the factory lighting assembly.

    Take Care.

I got my Hiks in. Here's my 100% nonscientific review:

They look great. It seems the foreground light (or whatever the part is called that lights up signs) is completely gone. I can turn the bulb to get it back, but that kills the focus of the main beam. I haven't driven without other traffic on the road, so I can't say for sure, but I think there is enough scattered light to light signs. Just not at 12 miles away like my factory Fusion LEDs did. Install was a breeze. The cutoff looks stock (minus the signage light) so glare is nonexistent. Overall, I'm pleased so far.

Is this in your Tacoma? Or the Mustang I think it was? Much of that signage light was scatter and not supposed to be there (where signs light up like they are radio active). The LEDs should be installed so the emitters face 3 and 9 o'clock. In projectors, the uplight to light overhead freeway signs is actually reduced. This is because the projector location for this light is directly in front of the bulb, as halogen bulbs light in all directions including forward. LEDs however do not, so some uplight in lost with side-firing LEDs in a projector.

So is there much uplift with the stock Halogens to where they light up the signs? I've never really noticed. Even though I just drove into work in the dark lol.

Yep, it is there. It isn’t intended to be super bright, as signs are highly reflective and you want to minimize uplight to oncoming drivers. Here is a pic of halogens vs Morimoto XB headlights, notice the raised box above the cut off on the halogen side. That is the uplight.

Can someone help me with an install question? 2019 Off Road
    I purchased the GE +130s. https://www.amazon.com/GE-Megalight-Ultra-Headlight-53110XNU/dp/B06XRS9LBR
However they are not fitting in two locations. I've installed headlights before so this is not something new.
One of the three outside tabs on the GE (right) are reverse from the stock (left) bulb. Is this normal? A fix?
The internal tab on the GE is bigger, is this what users are "trimming"? See yellow

Yep, this. The other bulb pictured is an H9. @tmartin110 you removed the wrong bulb.

Edit! Slow on the updates apparently! Glad @El Duderino had you covered!

I will say, I was not initially a huge fan of the GE 130s bc while they were definitely bright, the color temp was slightly too high and washed out for my liking... but I’ve found that the Nokya 2500 yellow bulbs in the OEM fogs + the GEs are a perfect combo for my needs.

I’d actually love to see some crash testing on those Nokyas. I know they are coated and that reduces output but last night I turned only my fogs on in my neighborhood and that yellow light seemed to carry for ever and the yellow of those lights kind of seems to fill in what I felt was missing with the GEs alone - for my eyes anyhow. I hate any light temp that gets even close to “daylight” white and find it far more distracting than helpful.

The GE Xenons +120 or Philips H9s give a lower color temp and higher output for headlight options (only slightly lower in the case of the Xenons), which you may find more pleasant.

What would you want to see tested? They will be lower output than stock but more ideal color for poor weather use. I could provide specs on filtration loss and color temperature. If/when I do a run of glare capped H9s for extreme fogs, Nokya does offer a 2500 yellow H9 which would be significantly higher output than the H11 version.

I agree warmer color temps are better for driving, and yellow for fogs is most ideal. I run the Rigid Selective Yellow LED fogs and have been very impressed by them, I'm looking forward to their new 360 4" round model which specs significantly higher output than the existing D-series I am currently running.

I have the XenCN H9 2300k bulbs in my TRD fogs and they also do a great job at both punching through bad weather and fog as well as being less distracting than white bulbs when run in conjunction with low beams. Yellow compliments the stock halogen color well.
