If your tie rods are still too long, or it ends up being like that again, I had a local shop shorten mine 1/2” for $40 to gain some adjustability back

That's what I was also considering doing. Or just hacking off 1/2" and tapping them myself

I wouldn't do that to straighten the wheel though. If they need cut it should be even.

You answered your own question. If your don’t want to buy glass then +2” it is. Unless someone out there can confirm that the +2” glass you currently have will work with the +3.5” kit.

Also depends on what you’re trying to do with the truck.

If you've got a mid travel rear you don't want to change why are you upgrading the front?

That SUA rear will barely keep up with a decent MT front, and not at all with any LT front.

smashed this, broke that, covered it up with tape and paint
Total chaos SUA setup is definitely overland design (at least with the HD kit)

the total chaos +2 kit with dual shocks and air bumps is cool but admittedly I couldn’t tell a massive amount of difference in the ride between me and a dude with nicer bilstiens (on the road)
Offroad +2 feels more planted and balanced.

but if I was to time travel back?
I’d skip the +2 kit from anyone unless you’re just trying to join the stance nation

is the cost of glass really a concern compared to the cost of the long travel itself? or is it just painting it/wrapping it?

If you keep the glass you have and go to a 3.5 you’ll have a look similar to this

    it works
But you may need more minor trimming on your fenders

I was in the same boat. Depends on what you do, and as Shane said, what you can fit with the glass you have.

If you fit in tight spots, drive in main cities, etc. +2 is for you.

If you want more travel, don't do narrow trails, and don't mind buying new glass in the long run - Then +3.5 is for you!

I have +2 from Total Chaos and have been more than happy with it. Not once did I wish for +3.5, just saying.

Exactly. Glass cost is so minimal I just dont want a 3.5 when I go that route. 2+ good middle ground

    Why won't it work?

I compared both kits and the race version was definitely worth the extra!

I had a coilover bypass and 2.0 king bump

    all fit

    but for future info
The shocks from the +2 and the 3.5 are the same
So if you change your mind
    Keep your shocks

+2 is a mid travel kit. I know total chaos calls it LT but that’s probably just for marketing purposes.

    Whole lotta stuff
My mouth waters when I see 3.5+ kits with glass. So 3.5 gets my vote.

Seriously hope I can make the jump to a DK kit next year.

A properly tuned +stock or +2 will drive circles around an untuned +3.5 kit.
