If your looking for a smooth ride look elsewhere. But I got these to stop an issue where the stock mount would move around, in pen spec, and make the urd y contact the transmission support. While I'm awaiting on @Roostfactor to make my motec system exhaust and that might've corrected the issue but I'm not sure if that'll 100% correct my issue. id rather have performance and be a little annoyed then not have the performance and be very annoyed. I do believe the nvh will get better when the ecu relearns its idle but it's like stock when moving. This is my 2nd set. My other set is on my race truck. Plus these mounts are lighter than stock.

 

One more test drive should get that ECU back in check.

 

Motec JFR will not rub but that does nothing obviously for the squishy mounts.

 

That Y-pipe is extremely close. We've tried a few things which have lessened the contact, but they were not enough.

I haven't ridden in it yet, but with his suspension setup and larger tires, compared to my truck's, I cannot imagine it being any harsher of vibrations. Never had anyone complain or make mention of vibrations in my truck. Everything on mine is more rigid than his so mine would resonate more.

It could be however the harmonic variances between the higher durometer engine mounts versus lower durometer transmission mount. I have encountered NVH amplifications due to that before. Substantial. Maybe the DTF transmission mount is in order.

I think the current y-pipe really needs a cut/weld job to fit correctly.

Very good point on harmonics. Pretty high level stuff there! May need some Absinthe to absorb the concept fully.

 

So this is what failed on the roof rack. A clamp on theard square fell. Easy fix.

 

To update, the vibrations were much better once the ECU relearned itself.

There were two other sources of noise related to vibrations. The exhaust and the removable pieces underneath the headlights.

The catback to y-pipe spring bolts were loose. As well as clips to those moulding pieces were missing. Easy fixes for both, and the truck was well mannered again.

 

More tolerable. Sadly it still hits but not as much. I think with the jfr y pipe I'll try something like go pro for verification.

I already enjoy that oil cap. As hard as you tighten them, you're going to have a heck of a good time loosening it.

In prep for the off road track day and future mods I got these entended brake lines.

 

Got the hammer hangers and cross tube. The add a leaf should be here Friday then can wait till a good weekend to install them. Also the sos master cylinder braket and lines arrived. Waiting on the master cylinder to arrive before install with the rear disk brake conversion.

Installed the headstrong brake lines, good quality, but roadkill happened. Air got into the system and had to bleed the master and the abs system then the wheels. After that truck would randomly cut throttle and the brake lights would remain on. A little brain storming with Torspd and our friend Dan while messing with fuses, resetting the edu and plug on the brake pedal solved the issue. Also another roadkill moment this time with the exhaust since day one I have had clearance issues with the urd y pipe hitting the cross member. Yesterday @Torspd and I hit it with fire and made a dent to gain clearance. However with its expansion it seemed like it would rest on the cross member making it quite. Now that it has more clearance it make more contact. Yay. The other half of the issue is the cat back flange. The I.d. of the hole for the bolt is too large and when ever it moves the bolt and hole contact. We tried to fix this by closing the clearance.

So now when I receive my JFR motec y pipe I might redo the whole cat back portion. Anyway this weekend is a rally race and the truck is as good as ready.
