I only wish mine would work so good....If you towed with mine you'd pull over and shoot it right on the side of the road.

    Damn, that's quite dramatic...

Are you visiting any dealerships testing other trucks?

You tow in S4 with the ECT engaged, correct?

So after I spend my Money on a new truck and ask it to perform well within its intended usage I should unass whatever amount it takes to make it what it should of been right off the showroom floor? Ive had enough trucks to know what is right and what is wrong. Tell me why all this TUNE crap is out there if there is nothing wrong with these vehicles?

I tried every possible combo, I know its flawed. Perhaps there are different degrees of the same problem and others are not experiencing the same thing? As I sad Ive driven and owned many trucks before so Its easy enough to discern the problem. Go on OV tune's site and he pretty much mimics everything I say.
The two guys who were with me on the trip, both truck owners were laughing it up the whole way about what a pile this thing is.....I didn't find it too funny.

If I drove 50 mph it would still be hunting all over and shifting far too much , its not a speed related problem. I tried going faster assuming it would be able to hold 4th ( I already locked out both OD's) but it still kept jumping between 3rd and 4th no matter.

Well, like you said - you tried.

Guess you should be thinking about the positive- good trade in value, and dumping your POS for something more suited to your needs.

Plenty of good deals on vehicles this time of year.

EXACTLY, lots of gear hunting and no ability to maintain speed even on flat ground when towing minimal weight. On the plus side it is decent around town on flat ground when not towing and both ODs locked out. My wife wont even drive it, she dislikes it that much.

Bravo, you sir , Get it! A smaller displacement engine with a turbo would have huge torque down low compared to this combo.

So how is it cool aid if one’s truck doesn’t do what you say yours is doing? Did it ever occur to you that maybe some do and some don’t?

For the record, I don’t give a shit about brand loyalty for the sake of brand loyalty. My loyalty is only as good as brand performance. If my truck was shit, I’d be the first to say so and move on to something else.

I feel your pain, I had a 16 TRD Sport AUTOMatic, was exactly where you are, Sold it, turned around and bough a 2019 with Manuel Trans. Now there is nothing to complain about, I was told 2WD gearing is 390 to one and 4X4 is 430 to one and 5th and 6th are overdriven, I am geting almost 19 mpg at 80 MPH with the A/C on.

Yep. Pitiful torque down low, shifts to higher gears too quickly then downshifts, upshifts, downshifts, etc......after a while it gets old, and wow Ive only got another 9 hours to drive and enjoy this symphony of confusion.

Compression only "needs" high octane because it creates a quicker burn. It can also be compensated for with timing which also has the benefit of reduced emissions and it's why most modern engines have gone this route. There is no old tradition here, this truck is programmed for 87/89 octane and unless you have something wrong that is forcing the ECM to deviate from it's default maps, adding higher octane fuel is just a waste of money and a placebo for you.

I did the same trip last year in my 14 Ram 2500 crew cab long bed with the same trailer but a 3rd bike on the trailer and two MORE in the bed and averaged 15 mpg. Go figure
