CURRENTLY pulling cv out of diff need advice SOLVED!

Swapping out my needle bearing currently. Need help getting cv out of front diff. Hammering on ears of inner cv joint. Tried rotating it, won't budge

 

Use the pry bar tool that came with the factory jack under the back seat. Fit the flat end in between the CV and the diff and it will pop right out.

 

Use a thin crowbar or heavy duty screw driver paired with a small sledge hammer. Pry/ tap the notches on the metal body of the cv casing away from diff

Make sure its extremely straight when hammers on the ears. Have someone hold it level from the outside. Mine gave me serious issues till someone held it straight and came out in like 4 hits after that

 

Keep rotating and hammering

Yessir got it out in literally 20 seconds. I'll just bend the little shield thing back straight before reinstall

 

Okay oil is pouring out. What oil do I need to replace it with and where is the refill area?

My factory seal is super mangled is that normal? I didn't do anything to it. That seems weird. I have a new one to replace it though

 

Yeah replace the seal if you can. Use a seal driver or a piece of pvc that’s the exact diameter

 

Don’t forget to put the plastic bags in your Diff before using the install tool. And take them out before reassembling everything.

 

Successfully taken out. Had to grind my remover tool a bit to get it to seat behind he needle bearing.
Stock needle bearing seems to be in perfect condition.

 

How far in do I pound the ECGS bushing? Flush with the sleeve that it's going into?

 

Almost flush, 1/16” out that’s what I’ve been told

 

Oh okay so more flush with the outter ring that the seal sits on and not the one I am putting the bushing directly into?

 

See the 1/8” shiney ring just outside the hole, almost flush with that

What is the best way to get the cv axle back in the carrier
