Packers proved Sunday that they aren't what the media makes everyone believe.

    Get over it.

I do think everyone except for a select few can agree week 1 was fuckin wack.

I just really enjoyed seeing the Jets take a huge dump. That is all.

Finally a quality game!!!! The defense looked amazing as did the special teams. But the offense is still terrible and won't be real good with Cassel at QB I'm afraid. Still holding out for him this year. but if he doesn't improve he has got to go.

They were a pass-first team anyway. As long as they run at least 1 run play per series to keep defenses honest, I really don't see their offensive strategy changing much.

I would be high if I said my team (The Panthers) was going to be in the super bowl.

The least I can hop for is for Eli's helmet to come flying off again...with his head in it. Why doesn't he just wear a dress?

x4. Rex Ryan and crew were hugely entertaining during the offseason. Watching them eat shit was even more entertaining.

God, being a hater is the only way to watch the NFL.

How is the KC offensive shithole Cassel's fault? The only help he has is Thomas Jones, who's middling help at best. There isn't a receiving threat on the whole team.

Keep Cassel...he has potential. Overhaul the receiving core.

I'll just assume that you didn't watch too many chiefs games last year (don't blame you at all, I could barely sit through them) or much of this preseason until Monday night. I don't understand how you can say his only offensive threat is Thomas Jones. Jamaal Charles? Dwayne Bowe? Dexter McCluster? The new rookie TE Moeaki has a lot of potential as well. Bowe had 2,017 receiving yards and 12 TD’s his first two seasons in the league. Granted he took a dip last year and dropped a lot of balls but to say he isn’t a threat is foolish. Plus with the addition of Chris Chambers in the middle of the year he had 608 yards and 4 TD's in 8 games which is very solid, especially for someone his age.

Jamaal Charles was only 2nd to Chris Young in rushing yards in the last 8 games of the 2009 season. Plus Charles averaged 5.9 a carry over those 8 games!!!! Not a threat? The new rookie McCluster is a mini version of Charles and will be awesome on special teams and on offense in the slot and HB positions. So I would say there are enough threats on offense for Cassel to make due.

Nowhere in my post did I say Cassel needs to be cut from the team this very instance. I was just stating that I gave him a pass last year because our O-line was the worst in the league and he had no time to throw. This year the o-line is serviceable and hopefully he shows improvement with a little more time to throw. If he doesn’t show much improvement this year then it may be time to look for a new QB. I think he’s an ok QB, but not a super bowl type of QB. What he did in NE when Brady went down was more a product of ridiculous talent around him and the system he was in, in my eyes.

Cassel is not a very accurate QB, and takes way too long to make a throw in the NFL. He often locks into one receiver and will throw to him even if he is double covered. But again I’m hoping he can fix that this year, especially with Charlie Weiss as the OC in KC. On Monday night Weiss didn’t call a very good game. Run, Run, short pass, punt is not my idea of an effective offense and it almost seemed like he was scared to give Cassel the ball to throw late in the game. However, it was down pouring so maybe that had something to do with it.

With the Chiefs being a fairly young team it’d be nice to get a good QB in here to grow with these guys and gel for the next 3-5 years and make a few playoff runs. Is Cassel the guy? I don’t know yet, but right now I’m leaning towards no. Hopefully he can swing me back to the other side.

B - Jack will do just fine for us. He is a really talented back just never got the chance to show it as he got hurt the one season he was going to start. We'll be ok in his hands (especially if we sign a proven veteran backup - ) though I bet they are kicking themselves for not looking closer at Westbrook.

BJ in some ways is more talented that Grant. The Pack just signed D. Nance who was a decent running back in college. I think they are betting that Starks will also do well when he returns from the PUP list.

Bowe's numbers are what you would expect of a #1 receiver on a mediocre team. He's nothing special. Top flight guys in high powered offenses regularly record 1500+ yards and 12 touchdowns per season. And they don't drop balls.

And don't blame the numbers on Cassel pitching to him either - Moss and Welker didn't suffer one bit in 2008.

Bowe has a chance if they can get an honest #2 threat in there and a good posession receiver/TE.

Chris Chambers was always a #2 option, and his perceived skill was amplified by Vincent Jackson drawing the defenders with actual talent.

I think you mean Chris Johnson.

Half a season of hot is not going to scare anyone away the next year. Remember how unstoppable LT was in 2006? How's he been since then? And he actually was a threat.
I guess that's what old does to you. But we digress.

I'll agree with you that Cassel has looked mediocre in his time with the chiefs, but I maintain it's not entirely his fault.

It sounds like we are reaching the same conclusion from different directions. But I still maintain that if Cassel doesn't improve any this year with a better team around him then I beleive it's time to either draft a new QB or look at free agency.

I never tried to blame the Bowe drops/dip of 2009 on Cassel. He did catch a bad break last year coming into a bad situation and being expected to be Breet Farve*2, so I gave him the 2009 season. Now that he has more servicable threats (granted they aren't perennial super stars) he should show some improvments. Thats all I'm trying to say
