Really want to get a RTT but I just dont have the space to store them when not using them and I'll only be using them when I go on trips to fish on a beach, I guess a regular tent will do for now haha

I've been thinking I need to get a 3 piece poll and stick it in the somewhere in case of emergency.

    Cool pics and ideas!

I use a collapsible fly rod, so no issues with rod storage. All my lures fit in a pocket-sized plastic container. I fold one of the back seats down and keep my waders and boots and other gear in a plastic tub.

Amazing that fly stuff can cost so much, but you can't beat the convenience factor.

I went up to SE Minnesota 2 weeks ago to camp and fish in Lanesboro--even bought a temporary out-of-state license. When I got there the Root River was at flood level--the highest I've ever seen it short of major flooding. So no fishing... :-(

The only thing worse than not catching fish is not being on the river at all.

This is what I tell people all the time! Honestly, that's the only thing I've ever used the rear window for.

I fabricated these bed wall rod holders. Of course you can only use with rods under 5' or two piece rods, but that's mostly what I use. Gear goes behind the back seat in a soft side tackle carrier.

    Nice wahoo!

I somehow have a hard time fitting a 10ft through the window and into my passenger seat also the other fear factor of unconsciously forgetting then closing the rear haha

That's a awesome idea im just too skeptical about my stuff sliding in the back then to pop the tailgate and see a 4 piece instead of 2 haha

Since there seem to be a few fishermen in here.... I havent gone fishing in over 20 years... the only equipment I have left is a telescoping Harley Davidson rod and tackle box from when I was 10.

Im looking to get new stuff, not super nice, but good quality. Also looking to get my kids some stuff (age 5(boy) and 7(girl)). We wont be going out till next season since winter is here already.

What brands are good? would I be ok just hitting the walmart fishing section and picking out a rod and real?

I dont eat fish, so its all catch and release. I also am not a fan of catching pan fish, they never gave much of a fight. any bait I should be looking at for bass and pike?

That particular holder set I uses is VERY tight. Almost too tight as you've got to be care pulling pulling the rod end out.

What are some good plastics, spinners, and lures to get. I havent caught anything plastics besides powerbait mouse tails. I have most success with live bait but i want to leave stuff in my truck i can just go.
I go after trout, catfish, and bass in az water.

You need a variety. For trout, I like a small spinner like a CP or Meps, bass need something bigger but spinners work as do diving crank baits. Catfish are traditionally fished with live or "stink" baits but I've caught them on just about every kind of artificial "swimmers" you can think of. Damn crank baits have gotten crazy expensive and it hurts when you hang one on a log or some such. All fun though. Golf balls are expensive too and when I used to play it was pretty normal to lose a sleeve or two on a tough course.

If i could recommend one single lure for trout it would be a gold jake's spin-a-lure with the red dots. That has easily been my most consistently-successful item i own when it comes to fishing. No idea why but they just work.
