I was an obsessed Tool fan in my early 20s...finally got to see them live a couple years ago. I like the new album but it doesn't hold a candle to Lateralus imo.

Yeah, see that's just not the case. You remove them poorly, must've been praying or something. I've never needed to replace one, just don't remove them like a caveman trying to pry open some sabertooth cave pussy.

    No kidding...

Saw them live once, and that's when the establishment sold me REDBULL VODKA when I was underage :crapstorm:

There's a tool to remove this style of packing ring.

They're not snap rings and shouldn't be man handled laterally like one, they're less ductile.

    That's the tool!

I just forgot how delicate they were since I've only pulled the axle once, and that's on a set outside of the truck.

To be fair, the third gen my dad had as a loaner loved to shift too. I understand the guys issue. But posting on a taco forum about how much you hate your taco wont get you anywhere. Dunno why 3rd genners even bitch about it still. You either have to tolerate/love the truck or dont own one. As one guy in there said, life is too short to drive something you hate.

    Emphasis on what you said.

Life's too short for sure; in the back of my mind I want to roll coal but have no damn reason to.

Now that's the most american thing I've seen all day. Drunk piloting an American full-size into a house behind an American flag...
