Finished up my axle truss tonight. Pretty happy with how it came out. 2 pieces of 1/8in 2x1 rectangular tube welded together (bent using pie cuts( i think that’s the correct term)) topped with 1/4 inch plate for a flat even surface and extra strength.

 

Production underway

 

Made a SS pot while waiting on fitter and pipes to cool. Turned out pretty good, handle will stay up for putting it in the camp fire to cook with. For now it’s my dogs water bowl haha.

 

Off to the X-ray guys.

Do what needs to be done to control the heat !

If the puddle is getting to hot stop

Change techniques corners and the top of vertical welds get heat soaked weld those areas to reduce the heat build up

 

Doesn`t the paint burn off the first time ??

 

In this case yes because the fire was too high. High temp paint usually holds.

 

I have a bad habit with fires they tend to burn way to hot .

I would have had the expanded metal glowing red hot

 

Is this a reference to burning down the house?
