1st Gen Lunchtable Thread - General Discussion

There's little odds and ends you'd need that I didn't know about at first. Specifically the 4WD Shifter Console (you don't need this, but it makes for a cleaner install), and the A340F transmission mount, among others.

If you want to swap out the console which I recommend, I would go for a 4Runner one. They come in black and look better than the color matched in my opinion. I sold the 4Runner trim and ADD knob and actually made a profit on it after paying for the console. Plenty of 4WD 4Runners around.

 

If it turns any color besides Green it's just contaminants or some other factor, Green means that the Copper in the lines have corroded fro moisture. Brake fluid is Hygroscopic, which mean it absorbs moisture from the air.

 

Referring to the cross member? Was meaning to ask about that...

I'll look at 4runner consoles now on ebay.

 

I'm guessing he's prolly just talking the washer seal things for those plugs. Or maybe they're jacked up from others trying to remove or whatever. He's helping keep the economy stimulated hermano

 

@Kwikvette OH! I almost forgot. I didn't have this part which kept me dead in the water for a few days. The transmission dipstick and tube. You can't fill the transmission properly unless you have this. I had to order mine new from Toyota for about $150. Make sure the trans you are buying comes with it.

You're gonna pay an arm and a leg if you buy on eBay. I think @Running Man should have his still.

 

Crossmember is the same, you only need the mount. I just wrote that because they sold me the entire crossmember.

 

The shift console, how did that get damaged?

Good call. Does the dipstick tube just pop in, with an oring at the end? I know some transmission dipstick tubes come out that way.

Do you have an Automatic shifter console for 4WD?

 

It's affixed with an o-ring and a bolt.

Black definitely looks sharp, but will clash with the grey cup holders.

 

Easier to keep black clean, the gray shifter gets dirty often.

 

I wanna find one of those black j shift knobs in a junkyard someday. Also a black 5 speed knob
