Found the culprit. My sway bar was rubbing on the radiator support braces. The relocation kit from ADS moved it down far enough to make contact. How this has gone on for 9 months with no one figuring it out is beyond me.

Driver's side. Passenger's side had plenty of clearance.

I ended up removing the sway bar. If I end up not liking it or it seems dangerous, I'll put it back, but add spacers to the radiator support brackets.

Please let me know what you think of the ride without the sway bar. I’m curious to know your thoughts. Also how much you crank up your resis for street driving (+clicks)?

Did you check yours? Is it rubbing?

I've driven about 100 miles since removing it. So far, I like the change. It's not a HUGE difference, but it does seem to have loosened up the ride and is allowing the shocks to do their thing. It feels smoother and even my wife, as a passenger commented that the ride felt smoother, and she had no clue that I removed anything. I finally feel like I'm getting the full benefit of these shocks. I honestly wasn't thrilled about them before.

There is a slight bit more body roll in the corners, but I like it and makes it feel more like a truck. I've turned aggressively and have hit potholes and speed bumps without any issues. The truck feels stable and I dont feel like the "safety" of the ride has been adversely affected.

I'm poor and dont have clickers. But I suspect you could stiffen up the fronts and reduce the body roll. Also, my preload is unchanged from how they were shipped to me (1.5" lift)

    Good luck!

Is the sway bar relocation kit a must for installation? Wondering about 2.5's extended travel with resi's...
...er, I mean if you plan on keeping the sway bar.

thanks- sounds like interference with radiator mounts that @Bertw192 had might be an isolated incident? or do most people just ditch their sway bars..

Anyone ever had truoble running the ADS ext travel w/resi and all-pro UCAs? Ive got mine on my 3rd gen 4runner and there isn't any room for articulation without the UCA hitting the hose fitting on the shock body. Did I miss something about needing specific UCAs?20191013_102826.jpg

Are you sure you’ve got the correct UCAs?

They look way way too close.

Ya, the UCAs I've had for a few years now and they've never been an issue until now. Then again I wasn't running a shock with resi's before. After looking at pictures and specs of the MCM UCAs it looks like there's a bit of difference between them.

Every kit we’ve sold that included ADS has either used Icon, TC or SPC arms and there have been zero issues.

3rd gen T4R/1st gen gen tacos are different, not sure how many sets you've sold for use on them.

@99nmtaco your best bet is to stalk some build threads of other 1st/3rds and see what there's look like @Squeaky Penguin has a set. Or maybe @M C M knows something about that combo.

Ya that seems to be all I can find anyone using with this setup on a 3rd gen t4r/ 1st gen Tacoma. Might be interesting to note for future reference. I think it just comes down to the way All-Pro designed their UCAs. Looks like I'll be ordering a set from MCM next.

Thanks, Ive been looking at other builds and none have used all-pro uppers. I think Im just going to have to bite the bullet and order new uppers. Like you said I'm curious to know if MCM or anyone else knows anything about this combo?

@M C M is there a proper way to tighten the bolt that runs through uniball UCAs? I’ve noticed that it seems to sit a little lower and ride a little smoother when I torque it at ride height versus when it’s at full droop.

I think the bushings need to be replaced from being partially seized. So that may be a factor.
