It’s been while, been adding/collecting a lot of stuff for the truck. Also taken it out on a few trips to get a feel for some needed changes. Now that I have free time it’s back to building.

I did change the thread title to DIY Armor and Accessories because I ended up building everything rather than just a bumper and I have a few small things left to finish up.

Front bumper has been needing some recovery points, so I picked up some trail gear bolt on D Ring mounts.

Had a clearence issue with the hardware and the frame horns so I had to chop the frame back a bit.

Few other things I’ve made along the way

CB Antenna mount and (nottles) short for not a skottle

Skottles suck in the wind an cold environments. I need to add a wind shield

Hi lift mounts were added. Just used some old rectangular tubing left over from the swing out build and cut up an old u bolt to utilize the threads and nut. 1A9A6B47-B9AD-4B96-8572-6C0725E97EEE.jpg

Been playing with upper shock mounts, below is basically a mock up of BAMF’s 1st gen mount.

Before that happens ^ skids will be the next fab project.

Flap disc and cutting disc where the rust had decent pitting. Clean it with a sanding disc, and seasoned it with coconut oil for while then cooked bacon.

There’s a few methods out there on how to season/what to use.

Mounted a winch, had to do some fab work to get it in. Gotta find a new place for the lights and call the front bumper done.

Same here, the price was the cost of material so it’s already saved me a bunch of time. I’m just guna work front to back and fit one plate at a time.

    So few updates:

Sold the skids I did not like how things were fitting/how the 2nd gen skids would need to be modified so moving forward with custom skids.

But first I’m guna have to build another bumper....1st one did it’s job well and protected the truck. Had a Tesla come to a dead stop on an over pass, blocked the lane and I couldn’t stop in Time. 33712685-08F4-4EF2-B9A9-18B1520F2262.jpg
    59BDA566-9801-4163-B8D0-37BD15272D4B.jpg

Doesn’t look to bad but bumper is bent and needs a new winch mount as it’s pushed back a bit.

Any designs I should take on??!????

Edit: thinking something a little more hybrid
