Well every other thing is cable controlled too so if the cable that directs air over your heater core isnt moving the door you'll get didly fucking squat

 

Doubt that is the issue. Its not that complex. There isn't a "door" in there to direct air over the heater core. Air always goes over it only thing that controls the temp is the heater control valve in the engine bay which either lets in Coolant or doesn't. Only door is Fresh air vs recirculating. And I know thats working cause its loud as fuck when you move it haha and you can here it sucking in the cab.


Look at you two, tellin me shit about parts you don't even know about and telling me I need more research TW at it finest haha

I've found the cables to be more reliable than the actuators anyways. Hard to be an "analog" connection directly to something. Sure, it sucks when the plastic end breaks off the thing you are trying to move. But the cables never don't work.

We do have blend doors Ive fixed mine. You're going to be in there anyway to replace the heater core you probably don't need why don't you take a couple pictures and I'll make you eat your words then

I wasn't planning on replacing the core. Just wanted to know why you replaced yours.

It's really not that hard there's a big door right in front of the heater core. it's literally the exact same height as the heater core and I can tell you that because I've taken my two boxes apart when I had the gray truck and the green truck to build one perfectly working airbox. And my truck was just as old as yours all cable-actuated. A lot of it has to do with if your cables are adjusted properly, and if you slam them around like a caveman in the winter I bet you they're not anymore
