    Wow.

I'll say one thing for PA: there's lots of public land.
Between State Forests and State Game Lands, there's no problem finding places to hunt.
And all it costs is a hunting license.
The State Game Lands are geared more towards pheasants...stocked, of course. And they're stocked pretty liberally.
I learned to stay away on opening day of pheasant season though.
Been sprinkled a couple times at long range by once-a-year hunters.

Same here. On public land you're dragging a deer out to an access road.
Which doesn't necessarily deter some people from using ATVs. Better not get caught though.
There's a pretty good network of logging roads, but you could easily be looking at over a mile of dragging out over very rough terrain.
Which I did once and vowed never again.

Most of the serious whitetail hunters find a way to hunt on private land.
The big advantage is the deer aren't so spooked.
But there are still plenty on public land.
And you can use the presence of other hunters to advantage sometimes.

When grouse hunting, you get far less competition.
And you can go as deep in the woods as you want.

Oh, I should add...the numbers of Black Bears are on the rise.
Just a couple weeks ago there was one in the little park a few hundred yards down the mountainside from me.
Knocked over all the garbage cans.
Scared a couple Moms with their kids at the playground. :p

I forget every year. I'm not kidding.
And right now I couldn't tell you the exact date. Day or year.
It was in the first week of October though. :)

The one had respiratory infection and double ear infection. He’s on antibiotics. They all 3 coughing. Thinking it’s pry the same. We get their cups all mixed up. It’s damn near impossible to keep it straight when 3 toddlers just grab whatever cup they see. The puking, idk where that came from. He hasn’t again so fingers crossed that was a one time gig.
