I don’t think there is a Toyota OEM device. Just the third party pop and lock many of us know and love.

    Check them out on Amazon:

    https://www.amazon.com/Pop-Lock-PL8535-Tailgate-Toyota/dp/B00LST3022

you can install it yourself. These guys are great! :

    https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=ehiS8HVTRkc

    and their website:

    https://www.runnin4tacos.com/

I bought it off amazon myself (remember; same version as the tundra) and went to the dealership. They wanted to charge 3 hours of labor @ a rate of $175/hr. That was a no go, so a went to a local “customs” shop and the dude called me to come back in within 15 minute saying that he couldn’t do it. The Taco Twonz video was awesome so I took my time and did it in a day. Don’t be intimidated; I’m learning that the truck is fairly easy to work on.

    Two additional tips:

    - In retrospect I would have used a computer cable cover for the portion of wire that runs under the truck. The stuff is pretty cheap at electronics stores and reduces exposure to weather and chemicals in the winter.

    https://www.ebay.com/itm/Flexibilit...Cords-Protector-Black-Sleeve-Lot/223644075349

    - Number two, I would have used a noico type of material to deadened The sound of the “POP” aspect of the pop n lock. Just line your tail gate with some butyl material or closed cell foam (CCF). If you really want silence cover all of that stuff with a final layer of mass loaded vinyl (MLV).

You can do it, good luck!

I have one and love in SE Idaho. Its exposed to a ton of rain and snow. It does let some moisture in along the edges, but not much. I have detailing supplies back there and everything always stays dry.

Easy to apply, doesn't take much. Used no more than 2 ounces to do entire truck (glass too). Will be doing a second coat shortly and thinking about following that with their WET Mirror Finish glaze. Had tried TopCoat F11 over the past six months which to me needed to be refreshed too often to keep its performance going.

Is Exhaust re-route a must? Which RCI skid is in the way?

RCI skid plates Mobtown sliders Lots of patches and MESO stuff
I believe they make 2 different skids. 1 that fits when the exhaust re-route has been done, and one that does not require the re-route. If you do the exhaust re-route, and get the right skid, you keep a little bit of ground clearance.
