I got screwed by carpenters down here. Contract said 6” posts and by the time I got home it was built with 4”. Long story short had to hire another crew to do some fixing and gave me more work. Just because I have a legal fight doesn’t guarantee me any money back

Finally finished painting my house. Didn't change colors. Prep work took me about 3 weeks (working a little after work & weekends and dealing with bouts of rain). Removed & reinstallled gutters to do fascia boards too. Started painting last weekend and wrapped it up today. You can notice slight variations in appearance due to new shakes around new windows I've installed over the past few years.

Is that the same model as the one that’s one sale for $279, just with the stand included?

...^^^... FWIW ... good idea you have .... when I redid my roof I also did "kick-out-flashing" and it saved me a lot of trouble later.

I also did angle-cut 2"x8" sub-facia, .032 gutters, drip edge and metal valleys.

Yah. I had water getting under the shakes (western red cedar grooved) and the fiber breather board right around the area where the drip edge meets the house. I was afraid the fascia was going to be rotten, but it was bone dry. The water was penetrating a couple inches out from the fascia. No moisture got behind the tar paper over the sheathing. I redid the top 4 courses of shakes and used some tar paper and ice & water shield in strategic locations. So far so good. And the gutters are also back on.

I tried the stand out for my planer but it really seems to be made specifically for the tablesaw. A bit too low for the chopsaw in my opinion but I am 6’3 so most tool set ups are a little low for me.

The worst job has to be a general contractor sight superintendent. You have to deal with the architects, owners and flaky subs. Especially dealing with the subs.

Great choice. That stand is great. I was using mine today. It is very sturdy and the legs snap in and out very easily. The geared movement on the fence is why I bought mine. I had Boshe and the fence would pop out if you had any pressure on it.

Next you will want a Miter 1000 to get accurate angled cuts.

Yes, they're a heavy guage aluminum. And they are available in both LH and RH (versus those cheaper/thinner generic ones). I'm still careful not to make contact when I need to use a roof rake to remove snow.

Build a new house they said. It will be better than buying used, they said. They lied. So, here's my brand new kitchen, and I'm going to tear it out. The story is long, but the short version is the design sucks and I'm not going to live with it. To recoup some of the cost I'd like to sell the cabinets and counter.

My question for the group is what is the best way to re-split the quartz counter at the seam? The goal is to do it with as little damage as possible.
