    Outer tie rod failure isn't unheard of on the trail. But for everyday driving yeah probably not likely to happen. I stuck with OEM on outers plus the OEM ones weren't expensive. OEM inners were $$$ though so I did 555s on those.

    See the inner is the one I’d be more worried about than the outer. I’ve seen many aftermarket racks with shot inners after 20-30k miles

    Well hopefully the 555s live up to being decent parts, I've seen a couple broken outers before (both FJs weirdly enough) with the crosseyed wheels. Not sure if they were running aftermarket or if it was an oem failure

    A lot of outer failures I’ve seen are aftermarkets with grease fittings. And people not greasing them. The ball just falls out of the socket eventually

    Yeah the two I saw on the trail were popped out of the socket but I don't recall if they were greasable ones or not

    I’ve got a bad whirring noise from the front passenger side. It’s been there for a while, even before my ball joint issue. I drove without the radio on tonight to listen for anything odd, and it seems louder than usual.

    Maybe a bad a wheel bearing, or is this tire noise?

    UG UI is nicer. SG lets you enter custom PIDs to read vehicle-specific gauges, not sure if the UG does that.
