Well I'm getting ready to order some 265/75r16 Duratracs for my stock 3rd gen (2018) DCSB TRD Offroad. I know a lot of people say they don't get any rubbing with stock suspension and stock wheels but looking at the stock tires now at full lock I suspect I will get rubbing on the UCA at full lock and with some suspension compression with the larger tire. I think others have run into this too. An uncommon driving condition in most cases but might still annoy me.

So then I'll probably be hunting for some new 16x7 or 16x8 wheels. Anyone know the offset I would need to fully clear the UCAs in all conditions? Would the +13mm offset of the Tacoma TRD pro wheels be enough or would I need like a 0mm offset wheel? I guess I'll find out myself if no one has any experience to share.

I've read every thread for the past several weeks one this, it's amazing how scattered the information is on what works...

267/75/16's are no wider than the stock tires on a TRDOR, they're only taller. If you're not rubbing UCA's now, you're not going to rub them with 265/75's.

Right, but at full lock the stock tire is slightly underneath part of the UCA so it looks like a taller tire could be close enough to rub under compression.

I hope you're right because if I don't have to spend $$$ on new wheels that's great but a few people have indicated they've rubbed on the UCA.

Same tire. Same size. Very slight rub on UCA. I never even hear it just noticed the dirt rubbed off. Never really aired down low for heavy off-road so maybe that would matter.

Yes, I think you were one of the few that I read on another thread that experienced it. My tires get installed tomorrow so we'll see. It doesn't sound like a major issue for you if you don't even hear/feel it while driving. I'll watch for it. If it's that minor maybe I'll do nothing or switching to a wheel with slightly lower offset should take care of it (and hopefully not introduce rubbing elsewhere)

I had the tires taken off the other day and there wasn’t any marks or wear on the tires where they had contacted the UCA so I’m sure you’ll be fine.

they were ok for the price. However I currently have ko2’s in size 285/70/17 and like them a lot more.

If you’re going to say FTW, you probably need to be somewhere beyond where a Prius with factory tires can go.

Got my 265/75s Duratracs on. No rubbing at full lock either way or when going up the rolled curb into my driveway. I'll probably try to get it to rub and check clearances sometime soon because I already want to get new wheels. Hoping I stop there. They look great in person even if not cool enough for "the gram". I can tell mpg will be lower but not sure how much yet...I drive with the mpg meter showing like it's a game so hopefully not a huge drop. The Duratracs do hum at 65 mph but I'm used to driving a soft top Jeep with MT/Rs so no big deal.
