Cool build! The inset headlights on the early Tacomas have always been my favorite.

It's not so much a price thing as it is a motivation thing, I don't want to have my truck all torn apart for a month or two while the weather is still good for wheeling :)

At this point I'm not planning on doing anything that will have my truck apart for more than a few days til the end of the year. When the snow hits hard and wheeling season is over I might have some more motivation to crack into it but we'll see :bananadead:

Thanks, man, I like them too, it's like a nod to the retro look of the earlier Toyota pickups :)

Front or rear? I don't anticipate the rear ones being a problem anymore....

I imagine that made a bunch of fun noises :anonymous:

If that happens a front locker will be in for sure, CVs and hubs are a lot easier to change on the trail LOL

Did you use the 11/32" line that came with the cooler or did you get some 3/8"? That 11/32" was a nightmare to get onto the return hardline. Got some 3/8" and might use a bit of both.

The first time I put everything together to mock up I used the 11/32" and it really was a PITA like you say. I think I replaced all of it with 3/8" except the last time I put it together for the section between the cooler and the reservoir for whatever reason. I probably ran out of the 3/8 but I don't remember :notsure:

Ran some of the same trails this past weekend and had no issues with the PS fading so I'd say the cooler is doing its job! :D

Let me know if you’re running any trails up here, Jake! I still haven’t run Miller Rock or Kelly Flats...

Aside from wheeling I haven't been doing anything with the truck aside from collect parts to start getting ready for Moab in November...

    I have collected
    • full float Diamond E Locker rear housing with disk brakes
    • Transfer case parking brake set up
    • Complete 4runner e locker axle
    • spare IFS front third
I need to pull the third out of the 4runner axle and get it packaged up to ship to ECGS along with the spare front this coming week. I'll be having them put 5.29s in along with an ARB in the front :)

I still have a CEL for running rich and rough idle so if a new MAF doesn't clear it up I may just let my mechanic sort that out so I can focus on the other stuff.

    Nice, Jake!

You’re gonna be so stoked after you get those taller gears in.

I hope so. Working the clutch with stock gears and 35s has been hard on the clutch, the rest of the truck, and my bad knee... I was hoping to also get a new clutch in before Moab. I have one on the shelf, but again, might just leave it there and have the mechanic put another one in :homer:

We haven't been able to connect on a time that would work and last I asked he wasn't sure when he would be able to do it.

Picked up this Tacoma elocker axle out of a 2000. If I didn't need gears and didn't have the diamond housing I would be tempted to just drop it in and run it.

Going to pull the third and get it sent to ECGS this week so I can start building the diamond axle when it gets back.

Good question. We'll see if this comes out making any sense. For context I owe a buddy a 4runner e locker axle.

I picked up the rusty 4runner axle with the intention of keeping the 3rd for myself since it can be cleaned up for the Diamond housing. I picked up the clean (Tacoma) axle to give to my buddy thinking it was a 4runner axle til I showed up and saw it was for leaf springs. He doesn't want to mess with welding brackets onto the Taco axle and didn't want me to bother with finding a clean 4runner one so I guess he's taking the rusty one.

Probably not unless you want a Tacoma housing
