there's a bunch of hostels in SF I bet...I know there are some here in LA

When my ex and I went to Nicaragua for 2 weeks we only stayed in hostels. Couple of them were really nice, and a couple were straight up from a horror movie. I was in the grips of Montezuma's Revenge from the local water the nights we were staying in a hostel with a shared toilet and only a curtain to go around it. Everyone in there hated me

That's on par with LA in general, maybe slightly better. The west side/coastal part of LA is what really skews the averages way high for us.

 

Pfft. Never. The entire city has turned into a cesspool. I stay as far away from SF as I can. No need to go over there - ever.

 

I'm thinking about splitting the basement living room to add another bedroom or two and cash in on that rent money

 

Put an RTT on the Ford and rent that out...just make sure you add in the contract that you might need to use the truck occasionally and they have to be okay with moving around
