What speakers do you all recommend? I typically go with Pioneer, however I found a decent deal on some JBL 6x8's that I'm considering for the Ford.

I have an old amp laying around, so I'm planning on putting that in, along with a shallow (behind the seat) subwoofer and a new head unit, and some dynamat, as we are planning to do some road tripping in this truck.

Any brands/models that you guys absolutely love?

Wallet is considerably lighter today. Last weekend I fired up the heat to take the chill out of the house since it was high 50s inside. 30 minutes later wasn't any warmer, touch the baseboards and they were all cold. Check the boiler in the basement and it's leaking water. It's from the early 80s and knew it'd need to be replaced soon. So after a week of no heat and cold showers, got the new one put in today. Looking forward to the efficiency savings this winter, but man they are expensive.

OOOOOOFFFFFFFFFF! :goingcrazy: Houses are awesome! So many big, expensive, and necessary systems to go wrong...

I need to get my forced hot air working. It isn't playing nice with my Nest thermostat. Called the heat repair dudes... They only work 8-4 Monday-Friday, and if they come out after that, it's overtime pay for $150-250 A FUCKING HOUR....... Nope. We both have full time jobs. Can't just miss work.

The Nest worked great for my central air, but when it tries to kick on the heat, the furnace goes through its pre-light sequence, blows out a tiny bit of heat, and the Nest says "power out". I did some digging and found that my standard 4-wire setup needed the common wire to be connected to give the Nest a constant supply of power. I went down to the crawlspace, connected an unused wire to the control board, connected it to the Nest, still no heat.

Then I decided to put the old thermostat on... I can hear the thermostat clicking, but nobody is home. I have to re-check all my connections and see. I have two burner kill switches; one in the crawlspace and one upstairs by the breaker box. I wonder if in my infinite wisdom, I kept the kill switch in the off position down in the crawlspace...

All I know is it is getting kinda ridiculously chilly in the house. We have had to use the wood stove for the last 2 weeks or so, trying to get the chill out of the house as best as possible when we come home from work.

That being said, the Nest saved me a TON of money on my electric bill this summer! And being able to control the temperature from anywhere in the world (to make sure the puppies are comfy while we aren't home), is incredible!

Yeah they are crazy expensive for services. Apparently the nest e doesn't play well with the boiler we got, but the more expensive nest works just fine . I only have a W and R wire, no common wire, but I've seen plenty of videos online and everything of nest's working fine without a common wire. I'm gonna buy one through mass save for a lot cheaper than a normal retailer and see if I can get it working. If I can I'll pony up and upgrade the other two thermostats. If I can't I'll just reinstall my current one and sell the nest.

Yeah, these new 4runners have a high belt line, so it makes it feel like an FJ, but thankfully just not as claustrophobic.

I have had focal and alpine, I am not in love with the apline really at all. The focal was tinny to start, but when broken in I really loved them. The alpines hurt when you go too loud, the focals just felt goooooooooooood. $$$$$ tho for nice focals.

That sucks, hopefully it goes well. My parents got a new boiler a few years ago and it breaks every winter like once a week, I'm not exaggerating. I'm not sure why they haven't just pulled it and replaced it. They keep calling the same people for the same shit and no one ever fixes it.

Common wire gives it power? I think sometimes it runs out of power if you don't have one, at least that's what I gathered from reading about them when I got one. But some appear to work regardless. Again, hopefully it works well. I like mine a lot, and I also have one of the sensors you put in different rooms so you can change where it reads temp from. I have one in our bedroom so at night it stays the temp we want, otherwise the room gets 3-4 degrees warmer or colder.

Plug the adapter into the OBDII port. Turn off things like the Eco bar.

Plugs into your ODBII sensor and then connects via bluetooth to an app. I have it too. Used it to turn off seatbelt chimes, unlock all doors when pressing unlock once, change the number of time your blinker flashes when you 'bump' the stalk. It can customize a bunch of stuff.

Must be a foreign thing to keep trucks/or similar SUVs like that. The Honda Pilot and Ridgeline are the same from the B-pillar forward, yet the Ridgeline is so barebones compared to the Pilot. Toyota seems to be the same way.

@emelianenkov i have the standard 18" XLT wheels with continental 275/65r18 tires. The set has 13,500 miles on them now. To be totally candid, the reason I'm swapping is I want the Michelin tires. The Continentals are not impressive. Knowing where you live and the season we're heading into, I figured I'd be as up front about it as possible. I'd try to find a used set of take offs from the FX4 package, they have the Goodyear Wrangler Kevlars and are an AT tire.

Not mine, but same thing I'm rocking now.

I’m running 3 nest e’s that we got through MassSaves on a 2-wire system with no problem. Did you make sure to charge it fully initially via usb before install? The battery just maintains on the low voltage after that.

Haven't gotten the nest's yet. Just got the new boiler in yesterday and the guy installing the boiler said this boiler doesn't play well with the nest e's.

Good to know about the charging before hooking up
