Wait wait wait. We need some others' input on this topic about the Tremec app. It's basically dummy proof. Two people on this forum that I am aware of have used it to good success. One was a one piece drive shaft, and the other was a two piece.

Flat spot on transmission, in line with the centerline of the output shaft. Repeat on the 3rd member.

 

Just make sure that your case and buttons don't alter the flush contact.

@Torspd 1st is trans pan, second is long drive shaft, 3rd is diff. tried to be as accurate as possible.

 

this still doesnt make me feel solid. do the buttons on the side of my phone affect accuracy? if im not absolutely parallel with my phone on the shaft is it? does the case on my pnone change things? ive burned hundreds on this stupid carrier bearing swap only to end up here. need to pay a professional. i cant afford to keep missing work with this headache.

Im wondering if they marked the driveshaft before separating it? The zerks typically line up from the factory (most of the time) and the fact that they dont now tells me your driveshaft may be put back together incorrectly(rotated at one of the ujoints), and thats why youre having the vibes

Can you get a piece of angle or anything flat, on one of those fins, parallel to the ground. That way you can use that flat thingamagig to rest the phone against. I swear there is a good flat surface on the 3rd member.

You can test your phone and case with a level app or the Tremec app, on your desk or any other flat surface, to determine how the buttons or case may interfere. Before heading to the truck.

i know for a fact things were not marked before diassembly. i was the helper. i trusted someone to know what they were doing.

 

i would see if someone else with a DCSB 4wd Auto could take some pics of where the balancing weights are on their driveshaft. I'll bet that it was rotated and that is causing your vibes.. I almost did this even when i marked my driveshaft, very easy thing to overlook

 

Which piston/crank brand are you going with. Brian Crower ir dezod? I’m reaching out to my local machine shop and making a parts list. I have a bad #4 cyl as well. Just dragging my feet, gotta pull the engine out and take a look.

 

Brian crower rods and cp pistons from the. My cranks and block is mint. Pistons are actually fine too but figured while I was there.

 

what are correct angle #s fr these drive shafts?

 

the vibes come and go as speed increases. makes me fairly certain its out of phase. found a shop that will do it free. starting there.
