Good morning all

 

Been a busy few weeks folks. Been busting my ass getting my house painted. And I found out about a week go that my nearly 25 year career with the same company is coming to an end. I had recently transitioned to a new team and 2 months after I was informed that my position has been "eliminated". UGH!!

Being nearly 50, I'm seriously using this as an opportunity for a mid life reset and career change. I'm eligible for 6 months severance pay. 12/2 will be my last day if I decide not to pursue any internal positions.

I did a similar thing, went from Art Direction at Turner Entertainment to starting up a Landscape Company. I had to get out of sitting in a chair all day.
I have been running strong doing lawn maintenance and some installs for the past 5 yrs.
I must say I enjoy getting paid to work out.

I was forced to retire for health reasons. About the time we got that straight, wife's job goes away. She HATED it. But 24 years...

She found a new gig. Much better benefits and conditions. Less stress. More interesting.

Life is all rainbows and unicorns now.... Things have a way of working out if you let it. Good luck.

OK..... Rant time. NORMALLY. what would require a "jeep people" to irritate me to this level was accomplished by one morain in a Honda Ridgeline.

Tried to cut in behind me and steal a parking spot. When I just kept on backing up, he moved at the last second. Then he got out and started running his mouth. His dad was with him. All he did was look away and shake his head. I ignored and walked away.

 

Hate when they do that, I always back in.

 

Hells yeah! Here in the ATL, if you ain’t Backin’ Dat Thing Up, you ain’t got style!
