Damn... you must be a glutton for punishment! Not sure I’d have the patience for that without burning down my shop and walking away.

Have you used the dados yet? The set I have is leaving a little less than desired splintering on me. It's a cheap mastercraft set.

Anyone else have some dado recommendations?

Not yet. I went through all the reviews and for the price they seem to leave a pretty good cut. I’ll should be using it this week and will report back.

Yes, they ain't cheap. But, well worth the money. I've had my set for close to 20 years, very happy with it.

I pulled the trigger... I'll get to try them out Thursday. I'll take some pics of the issue with the current set for reference.

Well I’m jealous! Just couldn’t justify the price to myself as a hobbyist. I highly doubt there will be any complaints with a Forrest blade.

I finally got some time to make the base for the live edge river table I made last year.

I used more live edge walnut and roughened up any strait cuts.

Out in the sun you can see the swirls in the "river".

My first attempt at a mortise with a wedge.

Once I get the legs level on the garage floor I will use dowels to pin the legs to the base. Then pull it all apart and epoxy resin it all.

So here is the quality cut you get from a $40 dado set from Ebay. I've got several more to cut so I'm going to hold off till Thursday.

The bottom would be my biggest issue. That’s why I got a dado instead of continuing with back and forth with the standard blade.

That is with a dado. Its just alarming how one blade is slightly bigger than the other.
