Hi all! So kinda curious here, but according the tank average readout I’m only getting like 15mpg city and 18.5 highway. What about everyone else? Is this right? Is that readout accurate?

Non aggressive driving, 18-19 city and 23-24 highway after 3 1/2 years. Also stock shock and tires and don’t usually let my tank go under half

a lot will depend on what you got going from just weight, to extras outside (roof rack, bed rack, RTT, etc), wheels, tires, lifts, etc. The variables really don't end because there is also your driving style..

With that said, I have 265/75/16 tires with a 2" front and 1.5" rear lift with a Martin Roof Rack and traction boards on top of those--I'm averaging 18ish mpg right now. I lost about 1 mpg after the tire size increase and lift--before that I was around 19ish

Where are y’all viewing the history? I can’t seem to find detailed info other than that average per tank on the mini screen next to the Speedo.

I just drove about 40 miles and got 20 mpg average. I have bed bars and a Prinsu rack now, so my mpg has gone down just a bit.

Thanks I’ll look at it in the morning. Maybe I need to put that ugly air dam back on.

Throughout the Summer I have been averaging 21-22 MPG per tankful over all kinds of driving conditions.

Drive at 65mph with cruise on the highway. Drive and accelerate slow and steady and coast to stops as much as possible for best city MPG too.

You took the chin out, didn't you?

Most 2 years of ownership and never went below 20 mpg tank average.

The readouts on the dash are all over the place. My Tacoma is old enough that it doesn't have that feature, but our Honda and F-150 do. The Honda is always 3-4 mpg optimistic compared to when I hand calculate mpg's. The Ford however is usually close enough. It is usually within .2 or .3 mpg of what I get when I hand calculate it. But occasionally for reasons I can't explain it will be off by 1.5 mpg.

I wouldn't trust the display on the dash. Hand calculate your fuel mileage.

But compared to my truck your numbers are close. My 2007 4X4 DC will normally get about 16ish for normal everyday driving which is a mix of small town and rural 2 lane roads. On the hwy mine is closer to 19.5-20 mpg. But driving style really matters. My wife will get 2 mpg worse than me and wears her brakes out twice as fast. She doesn't understand the concept of coasting to a stop. Her foot is always on either the gas or brake pedal.
