I think you went a wee bit heavy with application

Did you move slowly? I’ve never used the stuff but I’d assume it’s like applying a light coat of paint

Yeah thats waaayyy too thick. I do it so it just tints the metal with a thin coat of oil. 3 cans does the whole truck.

Just looks like it is on real thick/too thick. Don't know if you can technically apply Fluid Film too think though. But you could prolly get away with a thinner layer of it. Frame is looking nice and shiny. Did the paint and stuff all work out like you were hoping?

the weather is not really cooperating for priming and painting, its supposed to have temps 70 - 90 range, it barely made it into the low 60s today
and i will have to re-blast a bunch of areas on the passenger side that look like crap still. I was just using normal daylight until i got the idea to use a halogen floor lamp to shine up at the work. I found a whole bunch of problematic body panel problems i had not known, hopefully they are minor and not too costly to get proper

i am wondering if the FF is having a bad chemical reaction with the phosphoric acid and zinc coating i tried cleaning up the flash rust with, that AT fluid and coffee filter was not doing a great job and had to apply this afterblast chemical several times before the white rags would wipe clean

Its yellow in color. Spray so its puts a golden tint on the black frame. If you go light enough it will be basically clear after a week or so. I think @BTB had a pic of his frame after a fresh coat he applied earlier this year. I did my control arms/coil bucket last week and this is what they looked like right after spraying. IMG_20191006_145124231.jpg

You can see a little yellow especially on the frame rail to the left of the pic, but its all just clear/wet looking now a week later.

Take a paint brush and spread what youve already sprayed out some. Its pretty thick, this stuff is too expensive to apply like that. You'll need 87 cans to do the entire truck at that rate haha.

There we go, we needed a resident expert with real experience with FF, not me the expert with fake internet experience FF. Good info though, I still need to get some FF on mine.

Not sure what all you did but if you bead/media blasted your frame, wouldn't painting your frame with the proper paint be next in order?

Then after the paint dries and cures, applying fluid film?
