I purchased 4.88’s first and they definitely helped. But I was still lacking bottom end power. This tune has helped a ton. Not sure which I’d do first since I feel they’re both necessary but the tune is cheaper

Show off! You drive like Elmer Fudd or what?!
Seriously, I can find certain speed/gear and throttle positions that just rock the mileage...on flat ground.
    2.0 19800?

Just a thought but without the brackets would it be possible that if you caught the exhaust on something while off road could you damage the cylinder heads. :notsure:

19800? I'd believe it. I ran 0944 for 2k miles - averaged 21.5. Switched to 19800 (kind of bummed about the lack of umph) and my current tank mpg average at 1/4 tank used is +26mpg. If that is the case when fill-up time comes I will continue on the 19800 train and hold the 0944 for camping season and towing when more power is needed.

I’ve seen 24mpg before but that’s usually driving at night with no traffic through the suburbs at a steady speed. I’m not capable of getting that as a tank average though. :D:burnrubber:

I think the exhaust tubes would bend before any damage to the cylinder head.

    I got mine through zendesk.

After 1,500 miles on 19800 (91) I flashed back to 19770 (91) this morning. I chose not to clear any values to mimic the future option of switching tunes On the fly. Happy to report no funky learned value quirks. Will run this tune until the full 2.0 release comes out except for when it snows.

Or just keep 19800 as the base and use 19700 for performance. If it’s still on your roadmap to allow switching between maps without flashing, it seems like that would be simpler and cleaner than trying to code a throttle curve to please both crowds.

I look at it this way, Toyota added the brackets for a reason. I once saw a Subaru come into the shop once that didn't have the brackets installed. The exhaust had taken a hit and it ripped the studs out of the head and broke part of the cylinder head. It has the same designed and does use a manifold.
