If I understand correctly what you said is exactly opposite of what this dude is saying in his video, I'm no expert, but he sounds like he knows his stuff, and unless you are running extra weight you might not be taking full advantage of your awesome ADS damping by running heavier springs.

Edit: Actually, sorry @SpeySquatch , what you said is accurate, but also spring rate is an important factor in the equation.

Vent visor, hood protector, door sill protector, next up eibach,SCS Ray 10s to be installed next week...
Heres the story....They set the eibachs at the first notch....because of the tire size and wherls ray 10s 17x8.5 -10 offset they were rubbing....moved it to the second notch and no rubbing. As for the rear the used leafs didnt work out......lesson learned... they installed a 1 1/2 block....rides great looks great.....very happy....i have before measurements. I do after measurements tomorrow...20191014_170550.jpg 20191014_165316.jpg 20191014_170546.jpg

700# coils are the standard for these 3rd gen trucks period. And I am running extra weight (135lbs front, 120lbs sliders, 80-100lbs in bed). This isn’t my first taco either. :D

Did you see the part about the stock OR coils being 713# (measured by Toytec)?

Glad it all worked out. Truck looks awesome. Did they specify why the used AALs didn’t work?

Well damn you got a perfect build! There's no comparison. Jealous man... someday for me.

I did see that post and tried to confirm the stock coils are 700+ lbs, but no one responded to my reply.
    https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads...s-pro-or-sport-sr.623562/page-3#post-21738205
From what I read, Toytec never posted their spec sheet from their testing. But it makes sense that they are around 700lbs, especially on the Sport.

Knowing all of this, do you think at 742lbs with no added weight the truck isn't compressing the springs enough on small bumps? I can definitely tell the Eibach setup is way better than stock on large bumps, but small stuff feels stiffer and harsher to me. I can only assume it has to be the stiffer coils because the Eibach shocks definitely dampen way better than stock Sport shocks.

    Thanks for your input.

The OR is heavier than the Sport due to small things like transmission cooler and a larger rear diff (if you are an automatic in Sport)....etc. the Sport is stiffer valving for road handling...who buys a truck for the road? :crapstorm:

The reason small bumps feel harsher is because of (likely) 2 reasons:

    1. Coils need about 1000-2000 miles to break in depending on your driving and exposure to offroading

    2. Progressive shocks feel small bumps differently than digressive shocks. This topic gets deep because some shock manufacturers combine both (ADS is progressive compression with digressive rebound)...etc.

After awhile you will really appreciate the Eibach coils. The longevity will last and the performance will only get better as they break in.

    You’re good to go sir.

I'm not going to lie, I didn't know crap when I bought my Sport, had I known better I'd have an Offroad right now, but that fake skewp fooled me good.

I wanted a MT AC LB. Forced to go Sport. I'm dealing with it. It's not bad or good it just is. I'm getting closer to a suspension decision.

The rear diff was the convincing option for me. All is all good

    You mean the elocker?

I'm going with 5.29 and adding an Air locker

That, and it’s a bigger rear diff (unless you got the MT)

I’m pretty sure my sport has the same transmission cooler as the off-road.
What’s the weight difference between sport/off-road in the same package?

I am happy. Not bothered but still undecided on the suspension route to take. Eibach I happen to like but not sold. Hence why I post in this thread. I'm not proud and tone deaf. Sell me on Eibach. Convince me . Anyone?

I always say do your research. Once you’ve done enough you will know. I don’t want to sell anyone, but having run through several suspension setups the Eibach coils have a nice fit and finish for the shocks I run and hold up to the abuse I put them through
