TRD/ Magnuson 4.0 Supercharger Tips, Tricks, and Mods

so, heres what i learned today. note- i have 2* shims under the springs with the fat side to the rear of the truck. to the best of my understanding i need the front of the diff to drop an additional 2.7-3*
feedback highly welcomed. this is with the idels carrier. may have the stock one back on and remeasure. thanks guys

 

The shims in that orientation are pulling the front of the diff up. If you need to drop the front then just pull the shims out

 

if the fat side of the wedge is at the rear of the truck wouldnt it push the front down?

 

Nope it will pull it up while being tightened up to the leaf springs. Think of it as pushing the rear down to make the wedge level with the leaf springs.

 

yep, youre right. i was backwards. so with the shims out i need like a 1* shim the other direction correct?

 

It might be close enough to just try with no shims. But if you still have minor vibes then yes you could grab some 1* to try.

 

dont know where to find them. 2* was the smallest. maybe ill grind on them.

 

Just take your 2* to a grinding wheel and make your own. But seriously, 1* shouldn’t make a difference. Just take out the shims.

 

probably will do that. getting stuff balanced now.

 

Your truck is spring under axle correct?

 

Yeah, that would change things a bit. I didn’t ask and it looks pretty low in the pics when compared to the pinion angle. Shims go opposite direction.

Nope, appears to be a AUD mfg. making their own SC. I thought the same thing re: Mk1. Also thought it was a Rotrex when I saw the thumbnail pics. After visiting their site, apparently they mfg. the SC.
