Hahahaha!!! I think the point of this thread is all summed up best in that pic and comment. I don’t trust the dash info.

    Stock and staying that way
Best is saved sample (I only have two, 21.7 and 22.5). Current isnt included. If I hit "Update" it would be.

As for not trusting the dash, I have checked it many times and it is usually +/-.2 mpg. I have even posted photos proving that a half dozen times .

I need to also consider the tank average I was using to base this info is mixed in with some interstate driving through a serious windstorm and then pulled our camper all on that same tank of gas. i bet it did only get 18 on the interstate. Today I watched it close and am getting 20.2 in the city. I'm not gonna worry about it, I was just afraid there was an issue but it sounds like I'm right in the ballpark with everyone else. I appreciate all the comments guys.

Use fuelly.com to track your tanks. Use the little MPG readout in your dash displays to modify your habits if you want different results. The results, of course, are highly variable based on your driving conditions, habits, and accessories/modifications like shells, tires, and armor. The third gen CPU seems to be accurate to about 1mpg as observed here on the MANY threads on this subject. I’d go read those threads. Your answers, including lots of extra chatter about how you should feel about driving, how/whether you can attain better mileage, how government should regulate air quality/engines/regulations/taxes/road repair, and more(!) are all there. I get about 23-24 mpg per tank for the truck listed in my profile.
    Edit: clarity

Yeah, the gas mileage is pretty disappointing. Sure, I knew what was on the sticker on mine, which was 19/24. The good news is that around my town, which the speed limit is 25 almost everywhere, I am getting 21-22mpg because it goes into 4th gear at 25, and my rpms are at 1000, which is insanely great for gas mileage! Bad news is that I am currently on a cross country trip, and gas mileage REALLY varies according to SPEED, which we all already knew anyway, but it is really bad at 75mph on some of the freeways with that speed. When I am cruising along at 60-65, the mpg is actually good for the truck, averaging 25-26mpg. BUT, when I increase speed to 70-75, it goes way down to 22mpg. Very disappointing, especially considering this new 6 speed transmission with 5-5 gears being overdrives. Toyota should be improving gas mileage, not making it worse!

16 city 18 hwy is what’s displayed. 255/85r16, no lift. But the tall skinny’s dork with the milage so not sure what the 16/18 mean for real. Only had the new tires for 1/2 of the first full tank them so time will tell.

I did a road trip to BC a couple weeks ago which was approximately 600 kms one way. Truck loaded down with 600 lbs with the baggage in the back and just the two of us on the trip. The truck did 10.1/100 =27.9mpg

Coming back from BC to Calgary we pulled into town showing 9.3/100 = 30mpg.

I find the dash readout to be extremely accurate for the entire tank average, when I hand calculate it comes within +/- .1 - .2

    Canada Eh!

    Actually 10.1L/100kms = 23.2 US MPG’s and 9.3 = 25.3 US MPG.

You must be using imperial gallons for the conversion. Nobody, except some Canadian dealers, use imperial MPG’s..as a way of “inflating” the numbers.

And FYI, posting this as an average is extremely inaccurate. 118.5kms is not much to go off of. Especially when it’s downhill with a tail wind.
