Very cool project! Wish I had the patience and talent to do something like that.

Awesome. Here’s mine. Not Tacoma but a hilux. Mountaineer model I’ve had since the mid 90s. Three speed trans, solid axles, leaf springs and winch.

With my boat trailer but boats at a buddies.

Finding out that getting these panels completely smooth is just gonna take quite some time. Good thing I'm not in a hurry.

Got 2 rear fender printer lines smoothed out enough before assembly. Doing the bed first to get used to the process before the more complicated cab. Only about 50 more parts that need the printer lines removed. :goingcrazy:

Glad I found them before I put bed together.

Any other little pieces I need to look out for?
    Thanks :hattip:

It took a little bit to get it to fit right, but I think it's worth it for the tailgate to open and close. You could always just glue the tailgate closed if you wanted to.
I don't think there were any other small parts like that.

Thanks, what are you using to hide the seams? Using Filler Primer but it seems to stay tacky even after a week. Bigger seams was going to use the gap filler glue?

I've been using Bondo but I think gap filler glue would work. Make sure your not filling in the smaller details like upper door seams or gas cap. They can easily be sanded and filled.

I believe it was $235, shipping was included in the price. It's pretty expensive and I was hesitant on buying my first body. However after seeing the build quality and the details. I think it's worth it.

Thanks! As a kid doing RC cars I would said thats too much, but as a adult with a unhealthy desire to relive my childhood with my son I dont see that price as too much :)

That's a great idea, make a mini version of your truck for your son. Do you already have a RC crawler?

I have a 24th scale crawler right now, its fun but the driveline breaks too easy and it cant go through grass very well.

I started racing them in 1994 with the rc10t, but stopped when I was 18. Allot of money spent on those things.

    Is this ABS?

If it is, Peter Sripol on YouTube uses acetone to weld the parts together and uses an ABS slurry to fill in the printer lines. Then he sands it down. Figured I would throw that out there for another idea.

All my rigs are purpose built. From crawling to camping. I also enjoy a nice stock truck for what that’s worth. Toyota’s are the jam!
Holy Shit!!!! It’s a small version of my truck! I want that so bad.

Can a kindly old Tacoma owner have one of these models built for him for a tidy sum of cash? My rig is a 2022 Trail Edition in Luna Rock. How much is this likely to set me back?
