I haven't jumped in a minute but heavily planning on it soon. Most of my jumps have been in Eloy with some in skydive San Diego

Good times to be had at Eloy! I’ve had a few late nights at the Bent Prop!

Haha in a minute! I haven’t flown my Funk2 since yesterday at sunset!

Changing the front diff, pulling the CV shafts, and/or changing the wheel bearings do not affect alignment. (That is, unless the technician loosened the cam bolts unnecessarily.) Whoever did your alignment after the lift probably did it poorly.

most probably the technician of Toyota loosened the cam bolt to get more clearance, I see the fresh mark on the cam plate and they are not aligned.

How long should you be able to drive on a bad needle bearing making the hum? I live in the middle of nowhere and need to drive about a 100 miles to a shop. Is that ok? I noticed it about 300 miles ago and just figured out what it was

Mines been making noise for about 6k. Is getting worse. I wouldn’t worry too much about 100 miles.

i’d have to go another 600 to get it fixed, ECGS themselves told me they’ve not seen catastrophic diff failure, that worst case scenario it eats my cv shaft too — with the caveat that the gears aren’t spinning in 2wd, so the needles just fall to the bottom and they flush it out with an oil change. So maybe wheeling things could go awry

if you’re close to ecgs they only charge 150 total

So seems like toyota needed to replace the front differential not the u joints and transmission. These shmucks. So the 40 mph vibration is the front differential needle bearings?

Re bringing up. Having the same issue still have power train warranty on my 2017. Lifted 1.5” eibach. If I take it to Toyota think they will fix even though small lift?

Could not find someone to replace the ECGS per my earlier posts. Was referred to a Toyota dealer Tech via a friend that I could at least talk to "as a friend". I was running out of options. Was told to bring it to the dealer. They drove it, felt the vibration. Was told there is a bulletin (not recall) out there regarding the vibration. The dealer replaced the complete front Diff assembly as per the bulletin. I asked the $1,000,000 question about is the crappy needle bearing design on the driver's side part of this new diff and will fail in a few months. All I was told was the new diff was "redesigned". It's been about a month. So far so good. That's my story to date. :notsure:

Yes... all I can tell you is at least the case was new and shiny and the bearing isn't vibrating. I guess only time will tell.

Toyota does have a slightly different bushing than the old style. That's all I know.

So far all good and tight. This was done in September. I checked everything when I got it back and again, all tight. I was reluctant to even think about the dealer initially because I have 5100's all around, set on the 3rd notch up front and 1" blocks on the rear, new Wildpeaks, etc. (The set up is perfect for my use and the truck handles much better) and rumor had it a dealer wouldn't touch it because of the aftermarket suspension. Anyway they replaced the front diff assembly under warranty, never said a word about the suspension and 4 months later still vibration free.

Take mine in Saturday. Haven’t ever had good luck with a dealership. Wish me luck. If they don’t fix it, I’m burning Toyota for good and trading it in lol.
