Typically its only the driver side that makes noise since the angles are more severe on that side. Since there is less of an angle on the passenger side due to the intermediate shaft in the diff tube, its normally the driver side that gets worked on. If i ever pull my cvs though, ill be doing it on both sides for cheap insurance

Side one done, preliminary road testing up to 50mph resulted in reduced noise. Highway testing will begin after the passenger CV is finished.

Mine started making noise today sounds like gravel being shaken only in reverse tho. Jacked truck up and spun the wheels kicked and banged around and nothing. It’s right side makes me think it’s the replacement fender making contact somewhere.

see if you can wiggle the driver’s cv at the diff, if so it needs to be done sooner than later.

Not much brother! Just another day in paradise! That would be a pretty sweet hat lol

Do you think it's one of your front wheel bearings causing that hum we talked about about a week ago? and carrier bearing or CB radio?

The noise is reduced with the bushing but it’s time for wheel bearings as well. I spun them by hand a bit yesterday and they sound like shit. I also played with the carrier bearing a bit yesterday, and it’s about done as well.

Good deal, sounds like theyre due! Surprised your carrier bearing is due though, my original lasted 255k and it still was in good shape, i just replaced it while troubleshooting the trans issues i had. If you do replace it, go with OEM! I made the mistake of buying a cheap one, but i returned it and bought a toyota one. Toyota just has better rubbers:D

I’m a bit surprised as well, not a part I hear people replacing often. I’m going to skip the carrier bearing and use a single drive shaft when the taco box goes in.

I’d buy Toyota condoms. As long as they’re not third gen

There’s a shop down the road from me that does a lot of work on drag cars and trucks, they shouldn’t have an issue with it. Probably.
