    has anyone ever tried writing while the engine is running? everyone is worried about voltage, why not just run the thing? i can't imagine the operation of the ECM actually changes a whole bunch. running or not, while switched on its still monitoring inputs and sending outputs. whats the worst that could happen? it misfires or stalls while idling?

    No. This doesn’t meet the written protocol for HPTuner and so it is not possible. It won’t start the writing process.

    Way late to this game. I'd like a crash course in HP Tuners products for our Tacoma V6s that are Supercharged. Looking to maybe swap out my OV Tune handheld to this. Fairly frustrated with the transmission spinning up between 4th and 5th randomly on my automatic, or not shifting to 5th at all. Never had that problem with the UCON, but that has its own issues.

    What's the state of HP for our trucks and what exactly would I need to buy to get into this?

    Sorry to hear about your troubles. I'm absolutely confident that you can get your truck running and shifting as it should with this.

    You simply need the HPTuners MPVI2 module and 4 universal credits (used to license your ECU). You can buy just the module (https://www.summitracing.com/parts/hpt-m02-000-00/) without credits, or get it with the credits pre-installed (https://www.summitracing.com/parts/hpt-m02-000-04/).

    The software is free to download and I'd be happy to supply you a copy of a stock file that you can look through if you want to check it out.

    Which version of our tune are you using?
    Make sure to flash back to stock otherwise the handheld will be no longer functional if you do swap it.

    Handheld may not be functional even if you flash back to stock. Still waiting on Mat to respond to zendesk message for shipping out a handheld that hasn’t worked since May...
    I flashed back to stock and sold to another member but we are having issues with it from a software perspective on his truck

    @OVTune

    Guess this is just another response anomaly to your 7-10 day response time. Ticket #6481 in case you can’t find the ticket number from the other emails from 19 AUG or 6 SEP or 7 SEP oh and last week on 7 OCT since there has been zero response to anything.

    Dustin already has the handheld and has had it and I've been talking with him, we are waiting for alientech to upload and update the ECU in their database. So what are you talking about?

    Good deal then. I asked if there was any confirmation of it being sent out and never got any response. He asked me to contact you last week and so i did. Thanks for the response.

    Has anyone deleted the air injection (SAIS) yet? I was just curious if you only delete the pump, block off/remove the tubes and remove the pressure sensors. Or if the pressure sensors are left in place?

    Lots of folks have. You can delete/remove the pump, tubes, and pressure sensors. The entire system can be completely removed for those Off-Road only applications.

    Awesome! I tried searching but didn't come up with much. Planning on doing that this weekend by making some block off plates and such.

    FYI, I flashed some new good good from justdsm (and a new "v12" beta trans tune of mine) last night. I can confirm that the write procedure takes easily half if not less in time than before!!!

    Pffffffff the cable HPtuners sent would only work on 1 of 4 USB ports and if I jiggled it at all it disconnected. Used a phone cord instead and prayed to god it was just a bad cable and not a bad port. Needless to say I was holding my breath the entire time.
