It’s amazing to me how much love the MT’s get on this site from all the millennial’s that think it’s something special.

I grew up driving MT’s, as did most guys my age. MT’s were everywhere back in the day and everybody had one. Good part of the reason it’s going the way of the dinosaur and people stopped buying them.

Most folks that grew up when they were common or had to drive them wouldn't want one except under the most limited of circumstances for any reason, but hey - you guys enjoy that “unique experience”... :D

Edited: Lest anyone get their panties in a bunch, this is a tongue in cheek post. They are fun, I just wouldn’t want one for every day use.

I did put a deposit down back in mid-august. The dealer had one allocation for an army green automatic but I was able to switch it to manual. First time Tacoma owner.

People stopped buying them because it prevents those idiots from texting and driving. I understand where you come from, but your comment is a FUDD comment on an enthusiast forum. Bragging about your old times when everybody drove manuals also is not going to get you anywhere. That claim doesn't apply to America. Source: I came from the country where literally everybody had only one option: manual. And I still prefer manuals to the point an auto car is a no buy. You like your autos - fine. What's not fine is your condescending FUDD behavior.

Coming from a 6 speed FJ cruiser, my only regret about my taco is not getting the manual. I thought I would prefer the convenience of an Auto, but really I just miss the manual.
