maybe 63s with a healthy overload leaf or something could work good. just dont want it to be super bouncy for you cause thats all we experienced with them when we got some speed going.

12s would work good with the 63s, could maybe even get away with 14s, depends if you want holes in the bed, but you can always make a nice cover for the holes if they end up going through.

    Just 3 tons of fun!!!

I'd be stoked to fit 12 inch in the back.

I'm not opposed to cutting holes in the bed. But I just don't think it would work with my set up.20191015_104252.jpg 20191015_104321.jpg

The ammo cans would be great covers welded in over the hoops.

Do you find 1st gens cycle more than 10" or even 12"? I've found that 1st gens go into negative arch pretty early in the travel so lots of people that are using stock mounts limit bump travel. A longer leaf may solve this issue. I'd be interested in hearing your experience.

^ This is a big reason why I'd be looking at 63s. They droop more as well as don't go negative as easily... and going negative wouldn't even have the same effects as on a 1st Gen Taco leaf (if it did happen) because they are much thicker springs.

I have plenty of extras... that's an idea. The ones in the pic are full of trail spares and assorted shit I hope I never need.

they do go negative quickly. with stock shock mounts i couldnt imaging running it hard. have to at least do a 10" shock relocation

I meant stock leaf mounts. I was assuming we were talking about a shock relocation. If you go with an aftermarket leaf pack in factory mounting location you'll still go negative early in travel. That's been my experience at least. Always wanted to hear other's.

oh yea sorry, yea stock leaf mounts diffidently limits you for up travel, mine did pretty well with the j59s but the location did limit it. ive seen a couple do a TC 12" shackle but keep the front spring hanger stock with J59s

That would be interesting to see. My initial thought is your gain a lot of lift from the shackle length but maybe not?

No they’re mounted above the frame and are moved back.

The guy selling them on the 2nd gen classifieds unless you mean for a fabbed spindle, then that would be a bigger topic.

It looks like it’ll be close once I pull the wheel spacers. Hoping they do, but prepared to trim if necessary. Front will definitely need trimming and cycling to finish cutting up the fire wall for clearance.
