I see we both have the same tires; do you notice any rubbing at full lock? I went with the skinnies I messaged you cause I didn't want to do any trimming.

Can't wait to see you do onboard air, that's next on the list.

 

I do have some frame rubbing at full lock. Hoping that the new wheels will alleviate some of this, however, pushing them out will mean more rubbing on the pinch weld/fender. Going to take a cut off wheel and a BFH to beat the pinch down and then use a heat gun to get the liner to conform. https://adventuretaco.com/finally-the-pinch-weld-mod/

 

Wheels are on. As expected rubbing.. Time to get to work on the pinch weld. Also, ordered White Knuckle Offroad sliders. Should be here in a few weeks.

Post up some sliders before and after. Are they bolt on or weld in place?

Was talking on-board air with a buddy; he's suggesting that I build/create a shelf below the RTT (since I'll run a bed rack and RTT) and use that platform for a tool box etc.

Sliders will be bolt on, DOM, powder coated matte black.

As for air. I’m still bouncing ideas around. May run two separate systems, small onboard ARB compressor for rear locker, then a 10lb powertank with liquid C02 for airing back up.

Not sure if you recall my whole Fox/Bilstein rear shock dilemma but with the extra weight in the back, the Fox rears are doing their thing. Wondering how your Fox shocks are treating you.

ARB CKSA12 just for the lockers. I have a VIAR 400P for airing back up, works awesome!

As for the Fox rear issue, I sure do remember. As soon as I added a full sized spare (285/70/17), rock sliders and hi-lift jack in the bed the valving on the universals seem to be keeping up great on all sorts of terrain. I am sure that another 100lb in skid plates will help out even more haha. I do still plan to relocate the rear shocks in the future.

 

Nice; our plans align quite a bit.

I plan on doing a rear shock relocation as well, and I'm almost convinced to run my shocks outside the frame.

Hell yeah can't wait to see it w/ the sliders. I am sure you have seen it, but if your going outside the frame Total Chaos has a kit, just need to run spacers.

 

Yep, I did some posting as well as some digging and searching to find the cross-member method, and the outside-frame-kit.

I'll tag you when I post pics of the sliders...they're going to be a bit 'different'

 

Has been a bit since I updated and or provided a pic - LBJs, inner and outer tie rods, steering rack bushings, sway bar bushings and new CV shafts. Truck is so much less sloppy. My rack was moving quite a ton. Also, got rid of a clunking issue which I believe was my right LBJ on its last legs. Thankfully I replaced before it before causing a ton of damage to my truck and myself!

I have the same front CO's as you. Curious as to where you mounted the resi's on yours.
Mine came with some pretty long hoses so I had to improvise

 

There was a bracket kit that came with the CO's. Mounts to the frame rail forward of the UCAs. Horrible description I know. I will post some pictures afterwork today.

I got some mounts as well that were supposed to mount to the side bumpers mounts that come off either side of the frame rails. Although there's no way I would be able to mount them there without my 33's hitting them or the fittings.
Not to mention it's not a good spot for them either. Could get hit pretty easily offroad

 

@betterbuckleup I absolutely agree with the poor position of where they sit. Thankfully at full lock / full stuff I have not had any rubbing on the resi lines. When I mounted them I did my best to rotate the resis in the hose clamps for as much clearance.

 

Ah gotcha. So you did use the mounts I was thinking of.

In your case it actually works pretty well because you still have your stock bumper which shields most of it.

With my front high clearance bumper, it's just pretty much hanging out there in the open way more exposed.


How do you like the DSC adjusters? Have you messed around with the settings that much?

 

When I eventually add a high clearance bumper I definitely will want to relocate them. I’ve messed with the DSC adjusters a bit, no suspension expert but have gotten them to where I “feel” they are good. I drive a lot of washboard roads and some easy to moderate trails when hunting. Adjustments were noticeable on the washboard roads at speed. High speed compression is a bit stiffer than my low speed setting at this moment. I’d say overkill for my use, but got a great deal on them.
