Absolutely not. It turns itself off fast enough for me and keeps me from locking my keys inside.

 

What's the lug pattern on a FJ80?

Yup, but they're full float so you have to have room for the hub to pass fully through your wheels.



Some wheels don't bore all the way through for looks

What specifics am I looking for, when searching for a FJ80 axle? Years, packages, etc. (I know literally nothing about Land Cruisers other than they are f'n badass and I wish my wife would let go of her Silverado and let me replace it with a LC)

 

Yeah, these don't taper like a manual hub, they're the constant 106.xx mm diameter. But your wheels look like they are too so should be gtg. Id check with calipers or a bore gauge before committing tho

Ya, my bore holes go straight through, and that black trim thing is removable as well.

I'm almost positive the specs on these wheels said the bore was something like 106mm... but ya, you're right, that's something I'd need to keep in mind.

 

Look for an 80 series 91-97 Land cruiser with ABS. If it has ABS it has a full floating axle with disc brakes and a cable actuated ebrake that you can adapt to your ebrake cable. 93-97 will more commonly have ABS. The huge rear hubs are a dead giveaway as are the disc brakes. The non ABS semi float axles have the same pathetic axle end as a Tacoma, and they're not worth buying and they have drums.

What did you all use? My plastic is broke af

 

I put it on a switch so I can enable/disable as I see fit. For me, it was also about the lights in the door (which I'm not sure you have on an 01-04)

Only issue and minor at that I believe, is the 80 series have an off-set pumpkin from the Tacoma axles I think. I don't think it's much of a concern tho from what I have seen.
