Hitch locks dont fit

    Ive had good luck with Reese products. Had a Reese locking pin on my Dakota for 12 years with no issues. We have Reese pins on our work trucks with no problems. :notsure::fingerscrossed:

    I have a hitch vault. It comes with its own internal locking mechanism. No pin required.

    I've had good luck with other Reese products just not this particular one but it has seen a lot of dust so I am not surprised. Went with a MasterLock this time

    One thing to note about locks... they do rust. Be especially careful about leaving locks on 24/7 365.

    My recommendation is to only use them when you really need them.

    You have to find a longer than normal hitch pin but here is what I did .

    luckily im in a southern state and we dont get much snow maybe 1-2 days every 3 years. not alot of cars around here rust out. when parked on concrete.

    8.5 Fisher XV2, some switches, some lights.
    Not as bad as it could be. I had a '96 Nissan Hardbody at one point that whenever I wanted to use the hitch I had to whack it with a sledge a few time and then scrape out the crust with a big screwdriver before I could put the ball mount in. :laugh:

    Yeah, my bad memory. The actual brand is "hitch safe", not the "hitch vault". It requires the longer locking pin for our truck.
