:rofl:You're getting it completely backwards of most to. BANGING, is something you usually have to do often whether you feel like it or not. DRIVING is something you do for a short while when you feel like it. :D

It’s a major fault in my personality. Funny, but logic used to be considered a good thing. No longer the case today... oh well. What’re you gonna do you know? :bored: :stirthepot:

wait for the manual. You’ll regret not doing so and then trade it on the manual.

why would I? I enjoy driving manual and I do know about its shortcomings (worse gas mileage and worse offroad performance to name a few). Second car in the family that is driven by my wife is manual as well. It is nice to be able to exercise individual preferences instead of falling in line with what majority prefers.

I would disagree with it being more capable off road theres things you can do in a manual in oh shit situations that you cant in an auto (ive had both an auto and manual Tacomas)
and I disagree with being slower ive raced a couple autos but only till about 80 and dusted them (maybe the gears?)

I’m just an observer... seemed like Dryfly’s comments bug ya.

I agree with what you are saying. I also love driving a manual. Although I usually prefer it on sports/ muscle cars. My truck is just to get me around.

takes a lot more skill to off road in a stick. Auto is an advantage. There are some small advantages to sticks off road, but autos are considered more capable as a whole.

if you put a manual taco and auto taco in a drag strip, the auto will be faster. Out in the street, it it’s anyone’s race (usually the more experienced pilot wins, whether auto or not).

He is just being too edgy for my liking. I will get over it :) About sports/muscles - that is exactly my point. Don't you see manual disappears from sports cars with alarming rate? New Supra and Corvette don't have it. I really hope we can keep it in niche cars.

Agreed for the most part with both of you. There are certain situations where stick could be more advantageous, especially off road and some situations where it would be a liability. The bottom line is you get what you like and deal with the consequences. To some it’s worth it to others it’s not. I’ve been there and done that and much prefer auto personally but there are certain times when I miss having an MT.

I found an old army truck yesterday at a lot in Alamogordo with a replacement L71 engine that has been converted to auto. IMHO, that was a mistake. I would have been very tempted to buy it if they had left it an MT just because Imwould buy it for a fun toy and not every day use.

Love the green. I've been waiting for one since they debuted at the car shows last winter. My dealer (small town) couldn't even order one until a month ago. At the time, I was told 3-5 months. As of last week, no news. With the amount of money that we are spending, we each have a right to get what we want. If you really want a MT, then wait for it. Don't let anyone change your mind. As for me, I'm waiting on my AT. I drove MT for 20+ years. 330K+ in my '86 Toyota pickup. That 5speed went thru 3 clutches and had to be rebuilt once. I tried teaching my wife to drive it, but we gave up after too many times grinding the gears. And that was on South Louisiana land. My first car was a 1970 VW Beetle. What wasn't fun was not having power steering (or air conditioning).
From what I understand, the automatic trans in the 2020s has been retuned. Besides the adjustable seat, this is the most important selling point for 2020s

Just get the automatic. You're already getting the green, don't double up on the absurdity. Can you imagine trying to sell a green stick shift in a few years???
