    I'm not sure about it being stainless. But it is 3/8". I got it at the local ACE hardware.
    I bought all my parts there for cost purposes, to prove out the mounting method. I figured, I could buy or fab something different if needed, after I got all it worked out.

    No problem.

    If I remember right, I think I used the supplied hardware to mount the triangulated strapping to the brackets in my set up. Then, I think I had 12 more nuts and washer combos across the top of the rod with the way I set up the horn pairs, and attached the rod to the strapping.

    The bolts that I bought to put through the radiator support, are WAY longer than the need to be. But, that is only so I could keep a grip on them as I was trying to get the threads started.

    XP PKG-black step bars, black maverick(?) wheels. all OEM now but planning on a few small touches to make her more personalized, nothing too big for now. very happy with it so far.
    Less than $10 for 3' of stainless. Cheeeep. I might do the same thing. Shippong might double it ? :)

    I don't know the shipping cost of just the rod as typically when I place an order with McMaster get a bunch of stuff I've been needing to save on shipping. In this case I ordered 8 items including the rod and shipping was $15
