I am good. It wasn't your post in particular, it was just a modern trend in losing manual option. Let's smoke some Pipe of Peace.

I've had my 6speed 2nd gen Tacoma since 2006. Put over 250k miles on it. And NEVER would I recommend the manual in a Tacoma nor would I EVER do it again.

I love my truck, and I've made it work for me and work well. But it wasn't cheap or easy and it shouldn't have been necessary.

Wait for the truck you really want. I think it's a matter of "waiting a few months" vs "kinda regretting it for years."

    Also manual FTW

Manuals are great, but I feel like a lot of people on here over exaggerate how good they are.

Have patience. Wait for the manual. We live in an instant gratification society, buck the trend.

If vinyl records can make a comeback, so can manuals.

I would agree with you but there is that very small percentage of the time...

I was all set to buy a Gladiator at the beginning of the year but got really sick of how long the roll out was taking and went over to the local Yoda dealership just to pass the time. Long story short, I came to my senses and went home with my OR that very day. Best thing I could’ve done. So glad I didn’t wait..

But for the OP, I would definitely wait in your case. Get what you want or you’ll regret it later.

And dare I say, you are a more attentive driver in a manual, you actually have to pay a little attention to what you are doing when driving.

In all honesty, I normally wouldn’t buy any year anything Chrysler.

I had always said about the only way I would ever buy a Chrysler is if Jeep ever came out with a truck.

Honestly the Wrangler and Gladiator are probably the most reliable things coming out of FCA right now

Wait for the manual. If my wife knew how to drive manual (not that she will drive my truck but just in case there is an emergency) I would have seriously considered getting one even with my bad knee. I don't mind the automatic but if you have your heart set on a MT then its worth the wait. I had a MT Pontiac Vibe that I got when we were engaged but living in different cities and I never heard the end of it until the day I traded it in. She never could get the hang of a manual transmission plus she drives horribly in an automatic (only person to make me car sick) its best not to complicate it with a manual.

I almost went with the gladiator too. Tacoma seemed like it would be more versatile as a daily driver and have better resale. Also FCA uses a weak clutch on the MT gladiator so you lose out on towing capacity from that alone (4.5k lbs on the rubicon, 4k on others - due to final drive ratio). I test drove them both. It was close but went with the tacoma based partly on it's reputation as being ultra reliable, it looks (better), and the fact that its manual is better than the gladiator's.

A lot of the critics are tearing them a new one because they are touted as the best in class towing but real world results aren’t living up to the hype.
