Call me old school, but I wouldn't use a Turtle Wax product on my toilet.

Sonax polymer net shield every 4 mos with a layer of quick wax over it. The whole thing takes 30 mins and offers the best protection.

You know I had the same thoughts on Turtle Wax but this test right here is pretty impressive. Here is a testing of the Seal and Shine against a very expensive boutique coating by Polish Angel. Maybe this is the same thing Pan found, I just can't be bothered with his videos anymore:

I'm an avid fan of the many brands sold at Autogeek but this is the first product I would actually consider buying at the local auto parts stores.

Lol wtf? How did it even get out of the spray bottle with that consistency? Sounds like something is amiss for sure

Collinite over powelock is mostly for looks. Gives a much deeper, wetter look that powelock on its own.

I'll have to try this next time. I used too much at first. Rinsed it off and reapplied it using a lot less. Came out very nice looking

I did the same thing except it was on a 2019 Honda Pilot. I had to wash it 5 times in 2 days to get the streaks off. I called MeGuire's and they recommended to wash it several times before getting it back in the sun. One bottle should do 4 to 5 vehicles as per MeGuire's. After the streaks were off, it shined like a new diamond. It also made washing the vehicle very easy. The road grime & dirt mostly just rinsed off. I'm About to try it again by on my 2019 Tacoma. I'll report back after I use it again this weekend.

i'll take the Turtle wax for $10 at Walmart, they can keep Polish Angel for the saps that think paying 10 times more with a cool name and hyped up manufacturing process automatically make a superior product. Its the same as the AMSOIL oil farce pay 10 times more for a product that is basically no better than Super Tech oil for far less, paying more for certain products don't necessarily mean they are better, Turtle Wax has been in the car paint protection game longer than Polish Angel and has decades more experience in producing car products than these so called superior boutique lines.

If that were true, Armor All would be better than the 50+ niche detailing brands too. I don't necessarily disagree with your premise but there are too many satisfied customers to argue. Also don't bother to argue, use what works for you whether it's oil or paint protection. I can't for the life of me understand why someone would argue over what someone else is putting into/onto their car.

While I can't wrap my head around paying Polish Angel pricing I can't help but notice that Apex Detail and the Aussie detailer both have mentioned in videos despite testing numerous products that are just as good, they still reach for PA on their own vehicle. Everybody focuses on length of protection and how durable it is but the thing that gets Polish Angel praise is supposed to be ease of use and user experience. Having tried Turtle Wax Seal and Shine on our work van I can see where it's got a less than desirable user experience compared to other spray products I've used.

next side by side test Armor All vs. Polish Angel, a lot of pro Detailers seem to push that boutique expensive brands are superior to off the shelf products because they can charge higher costs to the bill by promoting those products and then poo poo the over the counter products that people can DIY with themselves are inferior, its all about the Benjamins. I use exclusively Zaino products for years but there seem to be more and more less expensive equally durable over the counter products available.

That doesn't even make sense outside of whatever goes on at youtube. It's up to you to wade through that if you want to and interpret what they've shown and if it's even relevant to you. Plenty of good info either way even if it's a sponsored video. Hell watch it for tips or technique and then go down to the Autozone and pickup a similar product and have at it. As for a real world business they clearly are going to use products that work for them. As for costs, no doubt buying gallon jugs of some niche products would be far cheaper in most cases than grabbing products available at the local Autozone. Besides, what business is going over what products are used on a clients detail?

Not saying there aren't any products worth picking up at local parts stores, certainly there are plenty of gems and duds. You're mentioning cost and durable, these are only two of many factors people choose products for. How about being able to use it in direct sunlight even when the back of the bottle urges you not to?

I started off using Autozone/Walmart products. Then switched to other brands that were not sold in a brick and mortar store....I have yet to look back. About the only product I buy that is available at a brick and mortar is Invisible Glass, while the rest I had less than favorable results. I guess any product not sold at Walmart is boutique brand...if that's the case I will take Carpro, Optimum, Gyeon, Shine Supply any day over the rest.

Just say no. Torque= snake oil. If you want nice and shiny then keep a glaze on it. Won't last long but the shine will be amazing.

Whoa, better watch out for those guys I've seen them tell people to use even LESS product than they think they'd need. Not sure what kind of trickery is going on there but the fucker said it washing a car wearing dress slacks, shirt and a bow tie something has got to be up.

I've been using some of Optimum products for over 10 years & will stand by them any day. Optimum Car Wax, Opti-Seal, Car Wash, Instant Detailer & Gloss Enhancer, Opti-Clean & Paint Prep. All excellent products.

If I were going to detail professionally (and 20 years younger) I would probably use them exclusively. I've only used a few of their things but I think their system would fit well in a business model.
