Think I’m going to give the high mileage blend a go to see if it atleast temporarily fixes it.
I mean it can’t hurt to try right?

Can't hurt to try, at the very least now you've got fresh oil lol.

I don't know how much time it takes for it to effect the seals so you might have to give it some time, if it helps at all.

I had a similar situation it was the oil pan plug a little loose and had some blow back covering the front of the trans pan

Would definitely rather pay for an oil change then the labor costs for replacing the 30$ seal.

I’ll keep that in mind. Really hope it works (Even if it’s just temporary)

Interesting. Unfortunately I checked the “view window” (small piece of plastic you pull off on the bottom of the trans) and there was oil on the inside. From what I’ve read that’s most common with a rear main seal leak. Definitely could be wrong I’m still very new to this.

Ya. I’m almost certain it’s a main seal leak.
    Will know for sure tomorrow.

It can, yes, though the solution to stopping that leak is draining out the excess and cleaning the residual oil down below. That usually takes care of those types of leaks.

OP... honestly wouldnt worry about it too much. I had an old chevy that had a rear main seal leak so bad that it would loose ~ 1qt of oil ever 1k miles (some of which was due to blow by). I just figured it was more rust prevention under the truck.

    Hahahahah
Took it in today to the shop my family and I have been using for almost 16 years. The guys there quoted me a price I’m fine paying. I know the leak probably won’t ruin the truck but I do know it will drive me crazy every time I think about it.
Taking her in on monday morning.
