    Well, you'll have that sometimes...


    Get the driveshaft completely out, squirt some gear oil in, and bleed brakes. Then figure out why the hell this happened to begin with and correct it and new gear set sooner than later.

    Truck is driving again at least. Short trip around the block, about a mile, and it's quiet as can be. Nothing but suspension squeaks. Makes me think about all the variables I eliminated and which one fucked my rear like @presta24 does so well

    Who can tell me more about the LockRite locker?
    Noticed the 2 springs I could see were loose on the pins/bolts. The locker looked to be engaged and clamped, as well. Should've taken a pic of that and the pinion. I don't think my wheels are locked now, however. When I got the tires back on before off the stands, they'd act like an open diff.

    Lots of springs in there, maybe one dropped out and the ring/pinion ate it? Doubt a spring would have busted the ring though. You have the Powertrax No-Slip like me right? Open diff behavior would be normal. At least one side of the locker is always connected to the axle shaft on that side. Under load the center pin pushes the two sides apart and engages the onther axle for locked operation.

    The pins should locate the springs but they are free to spin in their bucket. They just get popped in or out by a screwdriver pushing/pulling them. A lunchbox defaults to locked for lack of a better term. It unlocks when there is no/light drive load and a differential in wheel speeds side to side (on jackstands or in a parking lot coasting). Once there is a drive load, the center pin drives the center drivers into side gears and locks up the diff.

    I could only see the 2 outer springs. Yes, pretty sure we have the same locker.
    Look at the pic of metal bits, couple of them are curly. Maybe a spring?

    There should be 4 pins and 8 springs total. Tricky part is that there are two springs for each pin. A bigger outside spring and a smaller spring that rides inside the big one, making them appear as 4 springs from the outside.

    I like the ARB air locker. I don't like that everyone we've wheeled with that has one, leaks.

    I might be okay with that. Not blaming the locker, yet, but I'd give up accelerated tire wear, chirping tires in corners at 10mph, and gain streetability.
