I wonder what the driver score is for most Supra owners

Since its half BMW, probably pretty low if it counts turn signal usage.

I know, just more concerned this data some how ends up linked to insurance.

In all fairness the earlier model 3rd generation do it too. You just got easier access to it on your end.

Working in tech, this is very, very, very useful to a company. Service, warranty, court.

I’ve seen how this data was pulled out and used by insurance companies after a wreck on a 2014 GMC. I don’t like the “score” function. Would make your lawyer work over time if accident was your fault and you end up in court with a low score.

OK, I'll bite - just what constitutes any kind of 'SCORE'?

Apparently driving aggressively lowers your score. What Toyota defines as aggressive is a good question.

What’s scary is Toyota is currently collecting more data on you and driving habits than any other manufacturer in North America at present. What I’m not sure about is if the amount is simply due to their volume of cars sold, or they are collecting more per vehicle.

Stated many times, so happy I have a 2017 Sport MT.

I cannot believe the audacity Toyota has for making me get into my truck and use a fucking key, A FUCKING KEY, to start it... UGH...

I work for an insurance company that has a program where you can earn a discount by plugging in one of those telematic devices. It’s an algorithm that determines the score/discount based on miles driven and braking/acceleration incidents. The way our algorithm calculates incidents is when your speed changes by ~7mph or more within 1 second. Not sure if Toyota’s is the same but probably fairly close to that number. The more incidents the lower the score/discount.
