I live in the projects so I don't worry to much about leaving stains on the asphalt. You are right it does leave a permanent stain. Or at least I don't see them fading at all. LOL!

What he said... or even cheaper... gasoline works amazingly well. I spray it on and it wipes off with ease. Its quick to evaporate so I will do roughly 1/4 of the tire at a time.

You fail to mention the fact that "boutique" (guess that means any brand not sold at Walmart  ) is cheaper when purchasing by the gallon vs buying from Walmart. Most "boutique" brands have a reputation of being known to actually work instead of pissing $5 here and $8 there down the drain at Walmart for products that do not live up to expectations or are not user friendly and time extensive. My time is precious and prefer not to waste it...especially when I have 3 vehicles to keep up.

oh yes spoken like a true elitist for profit detailer, expensive = very good, inexpensive= ignorant deplorable. your in it for profit so it benefits you monetarily to promote more expensive products to pad the bill with, as the Turtle wax vs. Polish angel video proves sometimes a $10 Walmart product out performs a $100 hyped up concoction. last time I checked Walmart super tech oils, fluids, oil filters, 12v everstart batteries now air filters are just as good or better than other makes of the same.

WTF are you talking about. I detail for a hobby. I don’t do this for living and as a matter of fact have only detailed once for money. I push no products. I use what works. I have tried several products over the last 12 years and several of those went in the garbage before the bottle was empty. Quite frankly I was tired of wasting money and started using more reputable products. Use what you like but don’t come on here knocking folks for using products that you don’t think are better...especially when you probably never used them to begin with.

Futhermore I can buy “boutique brand” at cheaper price per ounce than I can big box. So before you come on here accusing me of being elitist, you can start by not being close minded about it.

I started with all big box products. Even a joke of a big box buffer (I use that term loosely). Won’t even begin to talk about using wash rags to wash with. Lots of trial and error along with poor practices on my part. I once thought it was nuts to buy “boutique” microfiber until I used the first towel. I learned a lot the hard way, so because a video says this or that doesn’t mean :crapstorm: to me.

I detail as a hobby too, and I don't demean people for using products that Walmart sells or demean people if they use Armor All or Harbor Freight micro fiber towels if that's what they can afford to use.

i am not demeaning anyone. Yes, I will make recommendations to better products. I would offer you the same advice for knocking people who do use “boutique” products. When I buy those I am buying them because of ease of use and CHEAPER. Yes, the initial cost is more but I am saving money in long run especially when I purchase at 15-25% off. I even researched some stuff from Scott at Dallas Paint since he tends to use cheaper brands/home remedy type products. In the end, it still didn’t make sense cost wise when I buy by the gallon on most products and those are usually concentrated.

No one is demeaning anyone, except maybe you. I'm with Ace in the cost vs what you get. I use mostly carpro stuff but use a few other brands as well. It is absolutely 100% cheaper for me to buy proven, high quality products like Carpro than it would be for me to go buy the "equivalent" stuff at walmart or harbor frieght. That's just talking dollars and cents, not even taking into account time and energy saved by using a superior, easier to use, longer lasting, more consistent and reliable product. I recommend what works for me, and explain why. If that bothers you so much then move on.
You saw one video comparing an overpriced brand to a cheap junk brand. Now you feel you need to judge those of us who use so called "boutique" brands when really you don't seem to know a thing about detailing products. If you did have some kind of knowledge, you wouldn't be saying what you've been saying. Instead you're bashing others and giving bad advice.

Hey do you know if chemical guys makes a descent product? They seem to get excellent reviews even by the pros. Do you have any experience with their stuff?

They make a few good items. But for the money you could do much better. They are very flashy and do a lot of "hip" type of branding and advertising, which I'm not a fan of. They tend to have multiple products that all do the same thing for varying prices. Lots of gimmicky stuff too, like 200 air freshener scents and glow in the dark stuff.
What are you looking to get? Depending on what you need, certain brands are superior to others in one category yet inferior in another.
From personal use I generally like and use: Carpro
    Shine Supply
    Optimum
    Griot's garage
    Meguiars
    Gtechiq
    Jescar
    Gyeon

In my opinion all of these brands are better than chemical guys. Griots and Meguiars stuff can be found at advanced auto or walmart. Personally I like to order online because sites like autogeek and detailedimage always have great sales and coupons on high quality products.

I was at Walmart today and noticed they carry several of their products.

i have tried a few. I liked the honeydew foam soap. I initially liked V07 spray detailer but learned it has alcohol in it, which isn’t recommended for longevity of wax or sealant. I find their line confusing with 15 soaps, 15 detail sprays, etc
