Why are you at 40psi? And why are you giving Toyota your data?

Issue is not moot, data is still being collected. Not paying attention to it would be a much worse idea.

It’s better to know than be surprised, ignorance is not bliss. Started this thread to share info since 2020s are different.

So now insurance can jack up your rate for avoiding that accident, or being in it. Win / win!

Is this a standard feature on all 2020s or only included on a specific package?

Pretty sure this is across their entire product line—it’s part of an upgraded telematics suite from Toyota bundled with TSS. Any Toyota that uses their app is going to show you the score. Previous poster was also correct that all TSS vehicles have been soaking up this data from the outset, you just couldn’t see it before. Would be good if a Toyota service rep could comment on how this shows up on their end when they plug in to your truck. Has it been showing the dealer a score previously or just sending to Toyota?

I don’t remember signing anything when I purchased truck that authorized or denied how they share the data. When I installed app I feel like they buried a human centipad agreement in there that I missed. What also sucks is even if they say now that the data will not be shared with third parties, they could change that with an app update and we are all most likely just clicking through the screen.

ECUs have been data logging for a long time, not a new thing for any manufacturer. I’m hung up on the scoring. That needs to be explained in detail by Toyota. I read the details on the below links but there needs to be some serious documentation for something like this.

    https://global.toyota/en/detail/19580347

    https://www.toyota.com/usa/safety/

    https://towardsdatascience.com/data-science-at-toyota-connected-69bf50982b09

The last link really explains a lot of what is going on under the covers.

Also, this thread is apparently trending hot on google for “Toyota driver score”. Third link on search results so it’s getting some attention.
