We had a garage going up next to my office and one day things came to a halt. Not sure what happened up there, but the operator came down in a bag via the fire department. Must have had a coronary or t was an interesting day.

But I have a lot of respect for those guys... great sense of depth perception and an extended eye-hand coordination.

Wow this got way off the mark I was aiming for. I have nothing but respect for guys like Meso, and all the others pushing the creative boundaries. Props to them. It’s beyond tedious to push a product to market especially when it’s not a full time job. He and a few others continue to push the envelope with new ideas and concepts and that’s what I’m talking about. Another example is Marlin Crawlers and the development there NEW IFS system in development. But since this is dead thread and full of blah... never mind. I was hoping some of you innovators would have snuck in some sneak peaks. Oh well. Thanks for playing.

Oh yeah, the OP. Ok so I camp out of my truck, and I didn’t want a topper, and the bestop/softopper options were weak AF and canback was defunct, or out of commission, or on vacation, so I made my own soft top rack with a swing up spare tire carrier and a pintle mount for a machine gun. Bent the hoops, DOM steel, and commissioned a canvas top to be made. Innovation.

Also a very rich and luxurious high quality Astro-turf as a bedliner. I nap in comfort.

It would be nice to have a built in inclonometer, whatever they are called to give a better sense of when the truck is about to roll over. Screenshot_2019-10-14-11-03-10.jpg Without the jeeps. This one is on my phone. The lowly sr doesn't come with one

I'd like a v8 xrunnner with a 6 speed manual prewired for an aftermarket stereo. Bonus points for a full roll cage and flowmaster 40's

    Topper options really are dismal.

Is that just for shade, or does it keep you dry too?

Shade, but it’s a waterproof canvas, so dry as well. I’m working on version 2 with a thinner wall DOM tubing. The current one is light enough to remove by myself, but I can go lighter. It’ll have a thin sheet metal roof and a hatch. For funsies.

Nice. I had considered doing something like that, and building it in panels so I could take it apart one piece at a time and store it flat. It would be a little tricky to waterproof and add a hatch to though.

Then I found an ugly are dcu on Craigslist and called it good.

I have an adapter in the works that will allow the 4.0 1GR oil filter cartridge bracket to bolt up to the 2GR-FKS block. This will allow for several upgrades, the most obvious being the the larger 4.0 oil filter. With a longer oil filter cap, the monster V8 oil filter can be put into action. The 4.0 bracket also has a standard round donut style oil water heat exchanger, so stacking an off the shelf thermostatic oil cooler take off base plate will be simple... not a chance I'm boosting this engine w/o a serious oil cooler.

I must admit, I had to google "bifurcated", even though I suspected I knew what it meant.....
